Investment Banking Vice President Interview

Investment Banking Vice President
New York, NY

I applied through other source and the process took 5 weeks - interviewed at Goldman Sachs in January 2010.

Interview Details – I was asked questions like, are you good at algebra and can you file quickly. I had to take a typing test, they needed me to be able to type 45 WPM. I also had to prove that my IQ is over at least 145.

Interview Question – If you had 5 red balls that contained 4 red balls and those red balls contained the original 5 red balls, then how many sets of sets of balls would I take to have a double set of red balls of varying sizes inside each next largest red ball?   View Answers (2)

Reason for Declining – I declined the offer because while I liked the position and pay that being the Vice President of Investment banking would offer, I didn't like the idea of the Vice President of Investment Banking.

The drawback was that whilst nearly all of the people are super bright and highly driven, the world they live in is based on different requirements from "life". These people are not executioners outside "executing" a deal.

Interview Question – Let's go through the issues you faced in raising xxx million funding for this deal during the credit crunch of 2008 ...   Answer Question
