Interviewed Feb 2010 (took a day)
asked me a lot of fit and behavior questions. The atmosphere for two 1 on 1 were completely different. One person did everything to try to catch me off guards, and put me under stress. The other person was more laid back. Be polite, and don't lie, because they'll know.

Interviewed Jun 2010 in Salt Lake City, UT (took 5 months)
I first interviewed with the firm in February, for a position that was subsequently eliminated. I heard nothing from them for 3 months, then was called in for 2 onsite interviews for another position. I was then called in for a final round of onsite interviews, and called with an offer the next day.
The interview was completely fit (no skills). They were very informative and willing to take up to half of each interview to just answer questions. Mostly just exploring how well you'd fit into the corporate culture and if you were a hard worker.

Interviewed Mar 2010 in Jersey City, NJ (took a day)
I had an interview with one associate of the firm. We talked about my past performances and experiences. I then had a group interview with a panel who asked similar questions. Very specific questions testing my knowledge of Goldman Sachs and my own past.

Interviewed Mar 2010 (took 3 weeks)
phone interview was the first step. all the questions asked were qualitative and the interview was very friendly. they asked why operations, why HK, strength and weakness etc. after about a week, i was contacted for 2 half hour long interviews. alot of people made it to the second round but that's when they dramatically cut the list down.

Interviewed May 2010 in Salt Lake City, UT (took 3 weeks)
Interview was purely behavioral and there were no skill related questions. That being said the interviewers were friendly and knowledgable. How much they actually know about my suitability for this position is questionable. Perhaps this reflects on the level of expertise actually required to be succesful.

Interviewed Mar 2010 (took 4 weeks)
Very long process and irritating, I felt like I was being interrogated and they were trying to get to my deepest darkest secrets. Had a phone interview, then a one on one interview with 4 different people, then they fly you out to visit the work location if they want to continue with you

Interviewed Nov 2009 in Jersey City, NJ (took 4 months)
I went to the Boston Consortium where they recruit potential applicants. I had previously interned there the prior year so I was able to land the first interview. This took place with two interviewers in two different rooms, mainly behavioral questions with a few achievement elaborations. I was then selected for a final interview for which they flew me to NYC and had another 2 people interview me (in two different rooms). Same questions, same format, such at their office this time.

Interviewed Nov 2009 in New York, NY (took 4 days)
I was first invited to attend their Women and Diversity Conference. The first day consisted of presentations and networking and we were interviewed the day after. The interviews were very behavioral and they were constantly trying to make sure that our personality traits were a fit. I was invited to final round interviews several weeks later.

Interviewed Nov 2009 in Jersey City, NJ (took a day)
I was contacted by my recruiter that GS had requested me for an interview for a position that they were initially looking to fill in August however, they decided to shelve the position until November. I met with four VPs consecutively in the department. Prior to the interview, I studied as much as possible about the general principles of Goldman Sachs as well as the specific nature of the division I was interviewing for.
