Interviewed May 2011 in San Francisco, CA (took 4+ months)
As anticipated, an indept interview, primarily focused on financial Q an A questions, and in reference as to why we should call or take another hire you?. Questioned education and or pedigree, pefered MBA for a possition which with some with and NBA would not apply for! It,appeard they prefered pedigree as apposed to experience. Economic times probably dectates companies have there own set goals, and are in a possition to demand it. Over all very good interview, it's all part of the process.

Interviewed Jan 2012 in South San Francisco, CA (took 5 weeks)
I applied to Goldman Sachs through my university recruiting platform. I was selected for an on-campus interview, which lasted 30m. I was asked about my background and upbringing, why I wanted to switch from investment banking to investment management, and why Goldman Sachs. No technical questions arose during this round.
A few days later, HR contacted me asking which location I preferred. I was invited to the final round interview at the location I specified the next day.
The superday was to take place less than a week from when the invitation was extended. It was in their office, and lasted around 4.5 hours. There were 5 or 6 total interviewers, ranging from Analysts to MDs. All were 1-on-1, and focused on how well I worked in a team. Some were basic technicals (Euro crisis, stocks/bonds)--nothing you can't prepare for using a WSO guide. Definitely rehearsals in front of the mirror will be essential to a positive experience.
I was told I would be contacted in a few weeks. I got the call two or three weeks later with the offer, and I accepted.
Overall, it was an incredible experience. Goldman Sachs definitely consists of the brightest, most ambitious, personable, and attractive people you'll ever meet. I am looking forward to a long, successful career with them. If you are smart, passionate about the markets, have great grades, great internships, and love making conversation with others, then you, too, can be in my position and one day work for Goldman Sachs.

Interviewed Mar 2010 in San Francisco, CA (took 3 weeks)
Nice people, gorgeous offices. Something about the interviewer was a little off and they kept hammering away at my background and experience to see if I was going to make a mistake or say something wrong. Kind of weird. They also had a skills assessment that I really didn't want to take.

Interviewed Mar 2010 in San Francisco, CA (took a day)
I applied to Goldman through the Finance career center at my university and received an e-mail a few days later for a first round phone interview. I had two people interviewing me, both were very nice and asked me rather simple behavior questions until we went over my resume. I then got a few technical questions related to DCF models and equity anlaysis.

Interviewed Jun 2009 in San Francisco, CA (took a day)
Pretty tough interview. They had us actually do calculations on site. It was sort of a group interview and there were multiple interviewers. Eventually they split us into groups and then individuals. The test was hard because I hadn't done those types of calculations and graphs since my sophomore year in college.
