Interviewed Jan 2010 in New York, NY (took a day)
First the panel introduced themselves and explained briefly the work they do in the company.
Then I was asked a few behavioral questions (why do you want to work for GS) and then I was quizzed about my resume. Then I was asked which language I am the most comfortable with and I replied Java. Then asked me about difference between C++ and java, abstract classes and interfaces, serializable interface, networks, sorting algorithms.

Interviewed Nov 2009 in Salt Lake City, UT (took a day)
Basically they called me for a final round interview directly and then when I went there there were a bunch of guys waiting to be interviewed. I was initially called for the Operational Technology team, but then they were impressed with my profile and set me up for itnerviews with the Equities Management team also. I got both offers and declined as the pay was low.
Prepare behavioral questions well. Technically you should be sound. These people cut you out if you try to answer some nonsense that you cooked up in a couple of minutes.

Interviewed Nov 2009 in New York, NY (took a day)
Flew me out to NY for a full day interview with three different teams within the Technology Division. Everyone is very excited to meet you. Interviews consist of both technical and behavioral interviews. The technical ones aren't particularly tough if you know algorithms and programming well enough. Concepts are very basic. Be prepared for a marathon day.

Interviewed May 2008 in New York, NY (took 3 weeks)
Met the recruiter at the career fair at my university and signed up for an on-campus one on one interview with the recruiter. The interview consisted of simple Java and Database questions and a brain teaser. The next round was on-site in New York, depending on the person's skill set everyone had 3 to 5 45-minutes interviews. My interviews had mostly technical questions about Java and database schema design.

Interviewed Oct 2009 in Salt Lake City, UT (took a day)
University campus interview 1:1. I was asked about past projects and talk about a problem that was really hard for me to solve. I was asked to write code describing the problem solution to the problem I said was hardest. The interviewer didn't ask for detailed code.
Then, I was asked an SQL question to write a query. Simple.
