Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Bartlett, IL Aug 2010 – Reviewed May 18, 2013 New
Interview Details – They look to see how nice and hard working you may be. They spend time talking about the mission of goodwill and how you may benefit it. They will ask general questions of situations you may be in as well. It will be two people there interviewing you and they'll also show you the whole building.
Interview Question – Have you ever been in a situation where you had to tell on someone? Answer Question
Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Menomonee Falls, WI May 2012 – Reviewed Nov 14, 2012
Interview Details – It was a 3 step hiring process- phone interview and in person interview with a recruiter and then a 1 on 1 interview with the regional manager. At the in person interview with the recruiter you will take some sort of personality/ethics test and are then asked 7-8 behavioral questions. The interview with the Regional Manager was also behavior questions. I was interviewing for an assistant manager position, but they pulled the Bait-n-Switch on me and said that they had no open assistant manager positions and asked if I would take a lower position as a Retail Coordinator. I was told they like to start applicants with "Big Box" retail experience in a lesser position, but I was guaranteed that I could move up very quickly which ended up being a total LIE! Everything that I was told I would be doing in the Retail Coordinator position was a complete lie. I didn't have any additional responsibilities and felt like I was just a regular employee who had to put away clothing and items with the added responsibility of doing returns and dealing with upset customers! Goodwill is not a good company! I don't recommend working for them at all.
Interview Question – What are your weaknesses or where do you see yourself needing the most improvement? Answer Question
Negotiation Details – No negotiation! Was interviewed 3 times for an assistant manager position and was then offered a lower position of Retail Coordinator
Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Arlington Heights, Cook, IL Jul 2012 – Reviewed Jul 25, 2012
Interview Details – Very friendly interiewer. Read questions from a packet, so I imagine that the questions everywhere should be very similar. We discussed my available hours and sales experience. At the end of the interview I signed off on my open hours and their right to perform a background check and a drug test.

Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Jun 2012 – Reviewed Jun 6, 2012
Interview Details – The day after I applied, I received a phone call and scheduled a phone interview that very day. The phone interview was very relaxed and pretty enjoyable. I was just asked some basic work and educational questions. We then scheduled an in-person interview for 2 days later. The in-person interview lasted about an hour and a half and consisted of a personality test and individual interview. I have to admit, my interview was intimidating in the beginning but eventually the interviewer seemed to lighten up. My interviewer then offered me a job interview at the end. After I accepted, I had to pretty much immediately go and take a drug test which took me about another half hour. So if you think you really want this job, be sure to block out about 2 1/2 hours, just in case you get an offer.
Interview Question – How do you give positive and corrective feedback? Answer Question
Negotiation Details – I was so caught off-guard with the job offer right at the end I honestly didn't try to negotiate and just asked a couple of clarifying questions about the position. It didn't seem like there was too much leeway in negotiation but I would definitely try.
