Interviewed Aug 2010 in Dublin, County Dublin (Ireland) (took 5 days)
I submitted my application online and was contacted by e-mail a week later. They asked me to fill a second application by e-mail that contained answers to some questions they had. After that I had a phone interview. The interview went smoothly and the HR person was very friendly. She asked general questions about my background and why I want to join Google. I did not, however, advance to the second level.

Interviewed Aug 2010 in Dublin, County Dublin (Ireland) (took 2+ weeks)
I was contacted via a careers platform and asked to send in my resume for that specific position. A phone interview was scheduled, which was on time. Questions were asked mainly about my CV, i.e. previous work experience, grades at university, extracurricular activities. With regard to Google I was asked what I thought the job was about, if I could describe AdWords. At the end of the interview I was told that I would be invited to an on-site interview.

Interviewed Oct 2008 in Dublin, County Dublin (Ireland) (took 4+ weeks)
Four phone interviews with two recruiters. The interviews where on the border of being friendly chats about life, studies and work based on the CV.
Then 5 interviews back-to-back on site in Dublin with people from the team I would be working with.
They look for people with googliness:
A person that is clearly different (i.e. peculiar interests or ways of seeing things), maybe even a bit nerdy, and socially adaptable at the same time.
Then lunch with the person who would become my "buddy/mentor" when I started.

Interviewed Jul 2010 in Dublin, County Dublin (Ireland) (took 3 weeks)
I have decided to send my CV for the first time to Google, to my surprise have been contacted almost instantly and after a few standard questions been told that I will be contacted by the end of the week (was Tuesday). I havent been called back in a week, but been asked via mail when was available for another phonecall. During the second phone interview been introduced to the recruiting process and been told that I would have another stage in the coming weeks. All the time, I have been asked by the recuiter on my final grades and any special certificates (at least several time, which seemed very weird). To my surprise, after 3 days, I got a mail from another recruiter from London and already been invited on site and asked to select the day - have been additionaly asked for scans of my Diploma as well as the Post Graduate certificate. The recruiter has emphasised that sending the docs is important and the sooner i send the docs, the faster the whole process will kick off. Now i have to say, I went for holidays (long planned) and said it to the recuiter as well, but said I would be accessible via mail and phone. Two days later, I get a phone call (already being on the hols) from the first recruiter, saying that the managers seen my CV and they believe that I do not have enough human management skills, and company will not proceed with the recruiting process.
I got to say, that I did get negatively suprised by the company - not only by several people contacting me but also the timeliness and the way everything turned out, first being invited onsite and then not being contacted and suddenly been rejected. Furthermore, my CV didnt change since I sent it, so why the sudden negative feedback from Managers?!
The only reason I can think of is that the recruiter didnt like my diplomas: had B for final University Diploma, A for post graduate (marketing and sales depot manage, ent) and Cambridge English Cert for C.
Honestly, I have expected some vision from Google and expected to be been given a chance at the 1:1 meeting (as initially invited), well, that is one of the things I wont be able to find at google I guess.

Interviewed Apr 2010 in Dublin, County Dublin (Ireland) (took 2 weeks)
Got a call from internal staffing since I had applied a few years ago. Decided to have another try. The process was quite straightforward, a couple of short calls with staffing followed by an hour-long technical interview with an engineer by telephone. The interview involved working on an (initially blank) shared document to answer technical questions, coding problems, database queries etc.

Interviewed Jul 2008 in Dublin, County Dublin (Ireland) (took 3 weeks)
It took three months until a recruiter at Google contacted me. I had three phone interviews: my first interviewer was someone from the Dedicated Customer Service team. This person seemed to be a bit nervous or in a hurry and asked very generic questions as in 'tell about a time when...'. About two days later a second person, my future boss, phoned me. Her questions were a lot harder and she asked what I could contribute to her team. Google told me they would get back to me very soon, but it took two other weeks until my recruiter contacted me. She just wanted to ask 'a few questions' in fact this was an interview in disguise .
The offer came one week later. Never had such a well-paid nice summer job.

Interviewed Jan 2010 in Dublin, County Dublin (Ireland) (took 2 months)
Process began in early December. I firstly had a phone interview and then was invited to take logical reasoning tests. Fine so far, waited 3 weeks to hear that they would like me to attend on site interviews. 5 interviews later, over 2 weeks, no job offer. A long and labour intensive exercise. The people were lovely and made you feel at ease, actually interviews didn't contain many tough questions but process has left me drained. Make sure you really want the job before embarking on it.

Interviewed Jan 2010 in Dublin, County Dublin (Ireland) (took 4 days)
Phone interview for the Online Media Associate Programme. Went over my background, what kind of jobs I were looking at, and motivation for applying to Google. Then more specific questions on Google products, asked me to explain AdWords, asked me about customer service and whether that is something I would enjoy, and some competency questions (ie one time I had to show leadership).

Interviewed Aug 2008 in Dublin, County Tipperary (Ireland) (took 3 weeks)
First phone interview with California - but the guy interviewing forgot about me...so I sat at home at the required time waiting for the phone interview to happen and called several times. Eventually heard from him, then 1:1 to interview with 4 different people, seemed unstructured.

Interviewed Nov 2007 in Dublin, County Dublin (Ireland) (took 4 months)
I was contacted by an Google recruiter that found me through Linkedin. He gave me a few details about the position by mail and we agreed to talk by phone a few days later. In this first phone contact He asked me a few very basic questions like what is 2^12 and what is the worst case complexity of Quicksort. After that I went through three more phone Interviews, was asked a lot of very tough questions and passed successfully to each on of these interviews. I was then invited to travel to Dublin and there I went through a day of 6 interviews with lunch in the between. After a couple of weeks I received the negative response.
