I applied through a recruiter and the process took 3 days - interviewed at Google in July 2011.
Interview Details – I was interviewed by someone with terrible interpersonal skills and lack of knowledge regarding the profession. The interviewer also completely failed to make the first assigned interview over the phone. After 30 minutes of waiting, I called the recruiter to confirm if the interviewer would be calling.
At the end of the day, the interviewer only asked a narrowly focused set of questions over his personal cell phone (terrible quality - I had to ask several times for him to repeat himself).
It was clear that the interviewer only had the job because he previously consulted there and they needed people to fill a gaping hole.
