Interviewed Jan 2012 in San Francisco, CA (took 2 weeks)
Since education is an area of interest to me, I was glad to be considered by GreatSchools, and the initial phone interview was very positive, further confirming my interest in the job. However the follow-up on-site interview was another story. Of the multiple one-on-one interviews, although all but one were perfectly fine, the one that was not made me decide that I wasn’t sure I particularly wanted to receive an offer to work at this place after all. I was asked to code a web page from a sketchy hand-drawn design including some interactive elements, which I would normally consider a good thing (in fact I’m not sure why more places don’t give a test like this). But the problem was that all I was given was a piece of paper and a pencil (no laptop), and the interviewer, rather than leaving me alone for a while to do the exercise, remained seated there staring at me the entire time. I don’t know if other interviewees would appreciate this tactic, but I found it off-putting, awkward, and unpleasant, and not conducive to producing the best results. It didn’t make a good impression.

Interviewed Jan 2012 in San Francisco, CA (took a day)
I had a phone interview scheduled with the "Executive Editor" and she never called as scheduled. I followed up with an email and voicemail but she never got back to me. Unfortunately, this lack of professionalism and integrity is much too common among hiring managers these days. Obviously not very "executive" of her.

Interviewed Dec 2011 (took 2 days)
Hi ,
This was one of my recent interview experience at Great Schools , Sanfrancisco CA for the Front- End Engineer positon.
There were two rounds - Intial one was Telephonic for about 30 minutes and the second was in persion interview which lasted for about 2 hours interviewed by two four different department people.
All of them were very friendly ! I was impressed by the technology update meetings they would have every thursday to share knowledge among colleagues.
Hope this helps !!!
