Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Bethlehem, PA Feb 2011 – Reviewed May 30, 2013
Interview Details – Solid. I met with an HR rep and then two managers. I felt I was heard and able to make my case and all questions about the company were answered. The interviewers were professional and represented the comany well. The overview of the benefits and procedures given by HR was thorough. I felt I was joining a good organization.
Interview Question – Actually the questions were easy compared to most I have dealt with. I believe there was the usual "what is your biggest weakness?" Answer Question
Negotiation Details – I accepted the offer as is. I was not going to haggle at that point in my life.

Interview Details – The Ratings Analyst positions are filled by a temp agency which gets paid hourly for workers and deducts a certain percentage. The offer comes from the temp agency, and after undergoing several weeks training the analyst works under more experienced analysts, and starts rating their own plans when ready. After about a half-year, Guardian Life Insurance may extend an offer of direct employment with the option to get group insurance, and slightly higher pay (cutting out the temp agency), depending on how well the analyst rated plans, their feedback from audits, etc.

Interview Details –
I went through four interviews in a row (2 hrs in total) in one day. Interviews were all pretty nice. The first was a HR personnel asking general questions. The second was with an actuary, who asked technical questions. Only one actuary gave technical questions, and they are not not too specific. The rest of the interview were quite open and were general and behavioral questions. The third was with a new actuary still in their student program, and was very casual. The last was with the intern student program's director. She was very nice, and very open to questions.
The most important advice is: prepare as many questions as possible, and make sure they are good (at lease with some depth showing understanding/interest of the field)
Interview Question – (Can't remember very clearly). Asked about fixed annuity and variable annuity, the risk with the latter one, and company's strategy for it. View Answer
