Interviewed May 2012 in New York, NY (took a day)
The interview went rather well but the employees were disorganized. One of the people that I was supposed to meet with didn't show up. I sent them an e-mail showing interest. Still no reply.

Interviewed Jan 2012 in New York, NY (took a day)
Not a difficult interview, but a tedious one. I met with several people, one after the other, with. Since each asked very similar questions and showed no sign of having talked to previous interviewers, the impression I got was the process was rather disorganized. The entire process took over 4 hours.
The position itself is not far removed from tele-sales - it consists of scouring the internet for people with industry-specific skills and experience that big investors would like to talk to for "advice", then cold-calling to recruit these people to speak to the investors. Somehow this isn't considered as insider trading.
Pay was $45k with full benefits, but the work hours were something like 8:30 am to 6:45 pm. Plus a $20 bonus for each new person recruited. Not bad at all.
I never heard back from Guidepoint, despite their promising I would within a week, and having written follow-up emails to each person who interviewed me. Very unprofessional.

Interviewed Dec 2009 in New York, NY (took a day)
I had a great chat with a recruiter from Guidepoint Global. We spoke for approx. 45 mins and she told me the in-person interviews would take place the following week. I never heard back from her or anyone at the company, despite numerous follow ups. I decided to post because I read another online review of this employer from a candidate that also took the time to interview and never heard any response back. It is rude and unprofessional to take up a candidates time and not give them the courtesy of a response.

Interviewed May 2009 (took 2 days)
Overall a disappointing experience with this firm. It's very unprofessional when a firm makes a candidate go through all the interview rounds and then does not respond to email, phone calls, or provide any feedback, even a sorry your skills do not match. So here's my experience:
I got a call from the HR after submitting my resume for this position online. 1st step was the phone interview which was easy and went pretty well and I was called for an in person the next day. Everything seemed to go well that day. The only person who interviewed me was the CTO and we definitely seemed to connect. He asked a few technical questions about my knowledge of open source tools, ms sql server, right left joins etc. He told me right there that I was a good fit for the position. The HR calls me the next day and says that I was a good fit and she would get back to me in a few days. Hopeful, I waited and waited till a couple of weeks passed. I decided to call them and leave a message for the HR. I wait another week, call her, and send her follow-up email asking if there was any decision or feedback from me. And no response!
Besides the interview experience, here's the take - company is trying to position itself as a research service provider. Think about this market. There is not much of it. Also, its a small firm with not much of a foundation or structure. Opportunities might exist but in my opinion they had their head inflated because they were hiring in the recession. This is would definitely not be a career. A job, maybe.
