I applied online. The process took 1 dayinterviewed at Gymboree in July 2014.

Interview

When I was being interviewed I got a lot of really sweet questions like "what is a memory of a favorite piece of clothing you had as a child?" Very happy questions that brought back happy memories

Interview Questions

  • They didn't really ask any unexpected questions. They had a question about a time where you worked closely with loss prevention which I thought was weird   Answer Question

    Interview

Hiring process is much too long and drawn out for position being offered, length of time between interviews unprofessional. I felt as though I was forgotten about. This should have been a red flag at the time.

    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied online – interviewed at Gymboree (Rockford, IL) in May 2014.

    Interview

The interview process for this job took a month. I had to interview with 4 different people. The regional manager was rude and was not even listening to my answers to her questions.

    Interview Questions

    • She asked if I had visited the store that was hiring and what I thought of the customer service.   1 Answer

    Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 daysinterviewed at Gymboree.

    Interview

Spoke with both the District Manager and Market Manager on the phone which seemed to be more of a "welcome" call and then first initial interview with the Market Manager was set up for the following week. From there, it was decided to have me move on with the process and interview with the Regional Manager which is tough to say the least. I had an offer of employment by that evening!

    Interview Questions

    • None too overly difficult as long as you have real life examples to back it up. Not looking for a "what would you do" answer but "what DID you do" in a particular circumstance.   Answer Question

    Negotiation

Didn't have to negotiate. I got what I requested plus a little more

    Interview Questions

    • No questions are difficult. The main thing to focus on in this interview is how you will deliver the best customer service or as they call it, "legendary customer service." This interview is very basic if you have been in retail for an extended amount of time, so there will obviously be questions about how you will diffuse problems between employees, handle loss prevention, how you will assist in onboarding, and how effective you are with visual merchandizing.   Answer Question

I applied in-person. The process took 3 weeksinterviewed at Gymboree.

    Interview

The interview process isn't too bad. The first interview is with the DM, and sometimes they will ask that you do a second interview with a different DM. After that, you have a phone interview with the regional director, and that only lasts 20-30 minutes.

    Interview Questions

    • I was asked to talk about the most challenging experience I've had as a manager in the past, it wasn't particularly unexpected but it's difficult on the spot.   Answer Question

    Negotiation

There was no negotiation! I got the offer and it was what I asked the for during the interview process.

The first interview was with the district manager. The second interview was with a district manager of a neighboring district and the final interview was with the regional manager.
