Store Manager Interview

Store Manager

I applied through an employee referral and interviewed at Gymboree.

Interview Details – Hiring process is much too long and drawn out for position being offered, length of time between interviews unprofessional. I felt as though I was forgotten about. This should have been a red flag at the time.

Interview Question – All questions pertained to how satiations or scenarios were handled.   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – Take it or leave it

Store Manager Interview

Store Manager

I applied through an employee referral and the process took 4 days - interviewed at Gymboree.

Interview Details – Spoke with both the District Manager and Market Manager on the phone which seemed to be more of a "welcome" call and then first initial interview with the Market Manager was set up for the following week. From there, it was decided to have me move on with the process and interview with the Regional Manager which is tough to say the least. I had an offer of employment by that evening!

Interview Question – None too overly difficult as long as you have real life examples to back it up. Not looking for a "what would you do" answer but "what DID you do" in a particular circumstance.   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – Didn't have to negotiate. I got what I requested plus a little more

Store Manager Interview

Store Manager
Nashville, TN

I applied in-person and the process took 5 days - interviewed at Gymboree.

Interview Details – Interview with District Manager, Second Interview with Regional, Background Check

Interview Question – No questions are difficult. The main thing to focus on in this interview is how you will deliver the best customer service or as they call it, "legendary customer service." This interview is very basic if you have been in retail for an extended amount of time, so there will obviously be questions about how you will diffuse problems between employees, handle loss prevention, how you will assist in onboarding, and how effective you are with visual merchandizing.   Answer Question

I applied in-person and the process took 3 weeks - interviewed at Gymboree.

Interview Details – The interview process isn't too bad. The first interview is with the DM, and sometimes they will ask that you do a second interview with a different DM. After that, you have a phone interview with the regional director, and that only lasts 20-30 minutes.

Interview Question – I was asked to talk about the most challenging experience I've had as a manager in the past, it wasn't particularly unexpected but it's difficult on the spot.   Answer Question

Negotiation Details – There was no negotiation! I got the offer and it was what I asked the for during the interview process.
