Internship at HP Personal Systems

Difficult Interview
Overall Positive Experience Received and Accepted Offer

Interviewed Jul 2009 in Cupertino, CA (took 4 weeks)

This was for an internship, so process might be a little different from full time employees

Applied on the HP jobs site and selected a bunch of internship positions and literally completely forgot about it.

I first got a call from the hiring manager about 2-3 weeks after applying, a fairly lengthy phone screening (from what I've experienced). Mostly talked about what the job was about and a brief overview of my experience. This caught me off-guard as I was in the middle of class and had forgotten that I had applied.

Then we scheduled a face-to-face with 3 people including the hiring manager and the other 2 are at a different site. Each interview was about 30 minutes and all of them asked me roughly the same questions. One of the interviewers grilled me a lot on my past experience, but overall it was a good process.

Then I was scheduled for one more interview over the phone, simple interview.

Lastly, I had to write a product analysis and product positioning plan in a document and powerpoint form. It was actually pretty fun to write as I did many things like this in my last internship.

After submitting my documents, I got an offer the very next day
