6. After clearing the interview,HR round took place where salary negotiation took place
7. Got confirmation of selection
8. Got offer letter after 15 days
9. Got call from relevant team even before joining
20. notice period in my prev company was of 2 months. So joined after 2 months.
People were good, helping, but it was on saturday, no food was available in cafeteria. So had to starve for whole day.Process was going slower, as people went for lunch in between. But it had a nice end, as I got the offer. salary offered was less than what I expected.
Office looks very good, location is prime, well reachable.People were communicating in english, regional languages are used less.

Interviewed Feb 2009 in Pune (India) (took 2 weeks)
After screening of the profile, have received a call for a possible date and time when I can have a short discussion for my experience andexposure. It was a telephonic interview and was enquired about my Project exposure, experience in various projects, my team management skills, leadership abilities, project management and how I have refined processes or practices to acheive more efficiency.
Reason for Declining
Salary was not as per expectation. Was looking for more salary because of relocation.....

Interviewed Jan 2008 (took 4+ weeks)
So why do companies conduct phone interviews? Phone interviews give the company a chance to get a feel for your skill-set, interests, desired compensation etc., and see if there is a match between their needs and your strengths. If there is enough common ground, then the phone interviews are almost always followed-up by an in-person interview. Phone interviews are generally conducted in two steps. The first step is with a recruiter in Human Resources. The second step is a technical interview, usually with one of the people you would be working with. Technical phone interviews are usually only conducted for people living outside the geographical region. This is done because the company wants to have some level of confidence in your technical abilities before they decided to spend the money to fly you in for an in-person interview

Interviewed Sep 2010 in Pune (India) (took 1+ week)
I had an initial knowledge of HSBC GLT. The interview process was planned and systematic. I had to wait a bit for the 2nd round (Technical interview), but it went well. Questions were only from my previous work experience. Then it followed with an HR round. I had to wait for an week for the offer, as they had earlier intimated. I got the hard copy within days after that. I can recall Celestine Fernandes, HR, with whom my interaction was very delightful. I had my doubts and he cleared them in no time. Look forward to join and have a great career with HSBC GLT :)

Compared to 2-3 years before, HSBC GLT is offering a bit less right now (Oct '10). I knew this, and it helped me to get along with what i was being offered. I was satisfied, coz i was offered a promotion other than a substantial hike. All in all, it was a good experience.
