I applied online and the process took a day - interviewed at HSBC Holdings in February 2012.

Interview Details – Received an invitation for a telephone interview shortly after applying on-line. The interview begun with a background check. Besides the usual strength/weakness questions, they also asked me specifically about HSBC, like its values, future challenges, etc. One thing that bothered me was that there was no interaction with the interviewer. She asked the questions, pressed the recorder, then you would hear a beeping sound, start talking for a minute, and that was it. In the end, she didn't even ask me if i had any questions for her.. Nevertheless, the questions were insightful and went a little further than the traditional HR bs ones.
