You start offf by filling out an application and then talk to the manager that is in charge of the department that your applying for. you take about what your job intales and what will be expected of you. Then they will schedule you with the assistant GM where he will talk about your previeous jobs and your background, and how you would handle certain situations. the final interview is with the GM where he will ask you random questions to see how you think spontaniously, and if he thinks you will be a good fit for the company. if all goes well you leave hireed and then will be scheduled to come in to fill out paper work and start orentation

Interviewed Jun 2010 in San Francisco, CA (took a day)
You have to apply in person, fill out their own application and hope that the managers aren't busy. Show up around 3 after the lunch rush and it's usually a good time. It's a 3-step interview process starting with the Assistant Manager, then the floor Manager, then the GM. They quiz you on your knowledge of Hard Rock, the story behind the start, and ask you who you would have perform at Hard Rock if you could choose. It's a very laid back company culture, tattoos and piercings almost encouraged, and people tend to blow their tips every night at dive bars around the city. It's definitely a younger crowd except for the "lifers" who make serving a career.

Negotiation Details
There's no real negotiations, because everyone is hired in at minimum wage. Tips are not split so you make a decent amount (average goal, anything over $150 for a busy day, terrible day if you make under $100). One of the huge perks of working at Hard Rock is they have a great training program if you've never served before, and eventually get offered to be trained as a bartender.

Interviewed Jun 2010 in Los Angeles, CA (took a day)
I attended an open call for the new Hollywood & Highland opening of Hard Rock Cafe in June. I went in and they had the names of the different positions available they were hiring for. I have 3 years of serving experience so I applied for that. There were about 50 people there. They were hiring Monday-Friday and I went on a Wednesday.
After I completed the application, I had my first interview within 5 minutes. The Assistant Manager liked me and told me I made it to the second interview. I waited around for an hour to interview with the Server Manager Kimberly. She liked me and told me I made it to the 3rd interview. After waiting about 30 minutes I then interviewed with a top corporate head and he offered me the job on the spot.
They then had me fill out all the necessary HR paperwork, had me try on a dress so they could order 2 uniforms for me, and gave me the info for the July 5th Orientation to attend.

Interviewed Feb 2010 (took 2 weeks)
I was called by the Human Resources on Monday for the interview scheduled on Thursday at 2 pm. I was veru surprised that the interviewer was not a public space manger or somebody from human resources. Two public space supervisors were interviewing me in their lobby area. The interview took about 30 minutes.

Interviewed May 2009 in Las Vegas, NV (took 3 days)
It started out as a general 1on 1 interview the questions were not that complicated just basic bartending and liquor knowledge. One surprising thing was befor the interview they took a Polaroid picture for the file. The interesting part came at the second interview, which was more like an addition. Everyone lined up and they had each interviewee sing grease Lightning and do the dance from the movie if you knew it.
