Interviewed Jan 2009 in South Lake Tahoe, CA (took 1+ week)
HR staff very arrogant. Supervisor interviewed for 30 minutes (very unprofessional and amateur-ish). Hiring manager interviewed for 15 minutes, answering his phone 4 times (yes, FOUR times) during the interview. Limp-fish handshake drew shivers.... Final offer letter received for different position and accepted as a "get my foot in the door" opportunity.

Interviewed Aug 2010 in Las Vegas, NV (took 1 week)
I had an interview with HR at first. She scheduled me to attend a group/panel interview that consisted of 20 other applicants (for all positions) and required to bring one item that I am most passionate or proud of (excluding family and pets). I was paired with another person and had to introduce her to the class. In addition everyone was required to share the best customer experience and then present your item to the class. It was actually a fun process (only if you are one to interact).

Interviewed Jul 2010 in Las Vegas, NV (took a day)
Was a group interview with 17 people in a small room sitting in a circle with 4 Managers/Executives. Was asked to bring an item I'm most proud of or passionate about. Started with being partnered up with another candidate and spending 10 minutes getting to know them. Then had to introduce partner to everyone. My partner was extremely nervous and made up embarrassing nonsense about me. I was horrified and I know it was visible on my face. Then we had to share a situation where we experienced outstanding customer service. Then we had to share and explain the item we brought. After everyone was done, the Managers left the room for 10 minutes to deliberate and 1 Mgr. returned. She called out the names of half the group ( I was in that group) and asked us to follow us into the hall. She then thanked us for our time, but they're not going forward with our applications.

Interviewed Sep 2008 (took 4 months)
Very rigorous. You take a battery of tests and everyone undergoes a background check, a hair test for drugs and the vaunted gaming packet. Submit bank records and tax returns. You meet everyone on the executive team

Interviewed Apr 2008 in Memphis, TN (took 2 days)
Very easy interview; they are attempting to match your skills to an open internship. The culture was very open and the interviewers were top notch. Very, very friendly environment although the management seemed to be a bit disorganized.

Interviewed May 2010 in Chester, PA (took a day)
I went to the Job Fair and stood in line for 4 hours before meeting with an interviewer one on one for about 5 min. Was asked only a couple questions like strengths/weaknesses, why do i want to work for harrah's and what skills did I have to offer. She said I met the requirements and that she will send me through to the panel. The wait was another hour and the panel consisted of 10-20 interviewees that were all trying to stand out from the crowd. Again, they asked 2 questions. What did you do at your last job that was creative and what is your favorite candy bar and try to sell it. The HR would then deliberate and come back to let us know who made it and who didn't.

Interviewed Mar 2010 in Atlantic City, NJ (took a day)
All of the very basic questions strength/weakness, why Harrah's, what do you know about Harrah's. It was for an entry level position, but I feel as though they wanted someone with much more experience. The interviewer was pretty young, early thirties. My interview was very late in the afternoon and I got an email first thing in the am that I did not get the job. I don't believe they even considered me.

Interviewed Jan 2010 (took a day)
The interview was mainly a fit interview with behavioral questions. Why Harrah's? Why the gaming industry? How do you motivate others? Strengths? Weaknesses? How social are you? The interviewer was very pleasant and the interview itself was very conversational. The culture of the company seems to stress customer service, communication, and enthusiasm. I tried to tie these qualities into all my answers to show I match personally and professionally with the company. We also discussed recent events regarding Harrah's strategy during the recession and what property/region I would be most interested in working as an intern.
