Hearst Corporation Social Media Freelancer Interview

Interviewed Apr 2011 in New York, NY (took 3 weeks)

The interview was very relaxed and held in the Hearst cafeteria since the digital team is currently crammed for space. We talked a lot about my background and my prior experience. Since this is a new position, the team explained that there would be a lot of room to build your own responsibilities. I was told that I would be receiving an edit test right after the interview though and it ended up taking four days for them to send it. Following the edit test, I was simply told that they were going in another direction with no further explanation.
