Interview Details –
You will be contacted by email to schedule an interview, typically by phone or Skype. If you do a Skype interview, note that it will be conducted via one-way video camera. The interviewers will see you, but you cannot see them. It's like interviewing through a one-way mirror.
If you are hired, they will offer you a provisional contract and begin setting you up with a work visa (you will have to submit the appropriate documents). A few weeks before the school year starts, you will be offered an actual job position, that you may or may not accept. Check out the Fukuoka Union's website for more info on how the dispatch system works.
Interview Question – There are no difficult or unexpected questions. Standard for ALT positions. Why do you want to come to Japan? Do you have any teaching experience? Do you have experience with kids? How is your Japanese? Answer Question
Negotiation Details – There is no negotiation. It's take it or leave it.
Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Jan 2008 – Reviewed Jun 4, 2010
Interview Details – First they email you to let them know they are interested in you. Then they schedule a time that you can skype with them to have a phone interview. The phone interview itself was more of just a discussion. Basically why you want to come to Japan and when you are able to relocate. They told me I got the job during the interview.
