I interviewed for four different positions prior to being made an offer for the positon that I accepted. I was very impressed with the organization and everyone I met. I had heard that Henry Ford Health System was big on internal movement, so I knew I was competing with internal candidates.

Faxed Resume to hiring manager because online process was impossible. Got a phone call, came in had interview with hiring manager, had to complete phone interview, then drug test and background check.

I applied on online for the SICU RN position, took about 2-3 weeks to receive a call back, then another week to get an interview, then started about a 2-3 weeks later, went through orientation, then unit orientation, took the CORE critical care class they offered, then began my unit orientation with my preceptor which lasted about 8-10 weeks.

The company was very accommodating and friendly from the outset. There were two rounds of interviews, each with 5 people from the department. Everyone seemed very smart and driven. The workload seemed challenging but not overly heavy. I would advise other candidates to be personable and not overly stressed about the interview process, since it was quite relaxed.

Met with two different hiring managers, the directors of Supply Chain Systems and Purchasing. Explanation of the role and that opportunity would exist in the future to work with alternative departments if I was interested. Posed questions as to the last time anyone was in the role, what specifics more than the job description did the role include. Asked specific questions on whether I'd be working independently or in groups at all time.
Negotiation Details
Since I had researched the type of salary for the role, and kept my prior years experience in mind, was able to make a firm offer which was accepted.
