Interviewed Jan 2012 in Hershey, PA (took 2 weeks)
I am a HR student in one of the top business schools in the U.S I interviewed initially with Hersheys over the phone and just went over my resume and some behavioral questions. 3 weeks later I went over for an onsite interview at Hersheys. The people were all very friendly and the whole process went smoothly, the problem is that the HR department is going through restructuring to a matrix organization and they still haven't figured out what the job of HR associate manager should really be, they just left it open, so every person i talked to (interviewer) they just said that they just left it intentionally open and that they will figure out the specific job duties later. So I was basiclally interviewing for a job that I have no idea about. I had 3 interviews. The person I was supposed to interview with last got stuck in a meeting so I ended up talking to someone else last minute who was not really prepared for an interview and didnt ask me the behavioral questions she was supposed to ask. She just talked to me about my interests and experience and that they will get back to me once they have figured out what the job should look like. They kept asking me about career interests to which i responded that I would be flexible and open to building a wide variety of HR experiences, but then they can't structure a specific job.
I was supposed to hear after 2 weeks, i didn't after 2 and a half weeks, i checked my status online and found out that I was no longer considered for the job. They didnt even give me the courtesy of letting me know that they I was no longer considered with even an automated email after meeting tons of people and spending a night over in hersheys. I was really shocked given that they were really friendly. Overall, I would not recommend that company to anyone like me just starting out in HR or in HR grad school because they are still structuring their department, don't have leadership or rotation programs like some companies and were not even sure what the job was supposed to be.

Interviewed Oct 2011 (took 4+ weeks)
I met the recruiter at a career fair - she was very friendly and offered me an interview the next day.
The initial interview was very relaxed and easy. She made me feel very comfortable. She basically went over the position and the company and asked a couple, maybe 2 behavioral based questions. They are looked for the STAR format answer. The next step is to go on a day out in the field with a current representative. The day in the field is basically to see if you would like the job. We went to a couple different grocery stores and he went over his day to day activities. Ask lots of questions, be enthusiastic, and engaging.
The final step is the final panel interview. They fly you out to Hershey, PA and the panel interview is about 3 people and lasts about 45 minutes. They interviews were all very friendly and nice, no one seemed intimidating. The first few questions are basic, and then they take turns asking you behavioral based questions for about 35 minutes. Once again, make sure you are answering in the STAR format and have specific answers prepared.

Interviewed Dec 2011 (took 3 months)
The interview process was one of the most intense I have experienced. All questions are asked using the STAR method. I suggest studying before your interview. Be aware that no matter what location you begin the process aiming to achieve they will probably tell you it's already been filled due to the time the interview process takes and then they will offer you another location. It seems like a great company to work for if you have 6-8 years before you want to settle down. They are all about relocation and in order to be promoted in 2 years you will once again be required to relocate.

Interviewed Sep 2011 in Seattle, WA (took 4+ weeks)
First had a phone interview with the recruiter only about a 15 min conversation, passed that round then next had a second phone interview with a Manager lasted about 30 minutes STAR format. Why Hershey's? Are you open to relocation?Describe a difficult customer you have had to deal with, ect. Then I was set up for a field day which they rushed me into the next day so I had to take the day off work, because I didn't want to miss the opportunity. After field day I was contacted by the recruiter again saying that I made it to th e final interview and I had to fly out in two days to meet the Sales Manager of that district. Once again I re-arranged my schedule to make it to the final interview, good experience with flight, hotel, ect. Meet the Sales Manager and the part-time manager. Just more STAR format interview questions read right off a sheet of paper. I felt comfortable and I know that I would have killed at this job, because it's not too much sales mainly stocking inventory. Didn't hear back for 3 weeks that I wasn't selected, I was very dissapointed and I kept e-mailing HR to find out my status for being so rushed on for ride along and final interview. It seems like the RSR position they mainly hire females. I have never seen a male RSR,

Consisted of one 1:1 interview on campus. All behavioral base, they love the STAR format and want you to focus on results. Know the history of the company and talk about the milton hershey school and the culture, they are really proud of that. They are just trying to see how well you would fit in and your level of professionalism
