Interviewed Mar 2012 (took 5 weeks)
This was a long process...First phone interview with HR, then 1 on 1 with area manager, then day in field with another sales merchandiser, then travel to do a panel interview. This was a lot for a part time job. Everything was o.k. until final interview. It was negative and mostly seemed to be looking for my flaws. When I did not respond by dwelling on past errors they wanted to hear about...DM got somewhat short with me. Stating, "If you are perfect tell me now and I will hire you". If I make a mistake I look at it as a learning experience. As long as I try my best I feel like I am not a failure. They wanted me to talk about failures and mistakes way too uch. Felt like final interview was, I guess belligerent at certain points. Weird. Sadly there were so many people quiting in the area...it made me feel like it was not condusive for me to take a position with them. Every territory is different. Make sure you study their interview format. STAR.....Good luck!

Interviewed Mar 2011 (took 2 weeks)
I applied online to the RSM position in my area. I received an email back very quickly from Hershey saying I would be contacted for a phone interview. The next day a person called and we sent up time for phone interview. We had the phone interview, took about 20 min., she asked several quesitions similar to the stars questions, we discussed the duties of the position and training. I felt the interview went well. She said I would hear back within ten days for a one-on-one interview with the district manager and to google "star behavioral questions", as that is the type of questions I would be asked. Phone interview was on a Friday, the next Monday I received a call from a person wanting to set up a personal interview for the next day (Tue). I explained that I was already scheduled to work that day, and I could not get to where they wanted to meet for a 5:15 p.m. apt. (I live in the area of where the position is, but they were conducting the interview in a city an hr. away). I was surprised to hear back so quickly, and that they wanted to set up an interview with so little notice. I gave them my schedule for the next two weeks and was told they would check with the interviewers and call me back. I never heard back from anyone. I called twice, leaving messages that I was very interested in setting up the interview. Today I get a message saying that they are no longer conducting personal interviews for this position. I am very disappointed. I spent time researching for this position and feel that I would have been an excellent candidate, however I was never given the opportunity because I could not meet their 24 hr notice time frame due to my current job.

10 minutes and it did. I was asked about 6 questions mainly about how my curreerestent experience would translate to hershey . ioffered a couple of examples. next I was told they were just beginning the hiring
process and i could ecpect to hear something in one to two weeks. if they wce ere interested ,I would be contacted for a face to face to face by a hiring manager. I have not heard back. The recruiter sounded young and not to experienced ... but very pleseant. I would love toi have this job.

Interviewed Feb 2010 in Tampa, FL (took a day)
I found this position posted on Craigslist - it did not provide any info regarding pay. After I applied for the position (for which I was an excellent fit with extensive related professional experience) I was instructed to complete their online application, which required me to complete payrates at my previous positions. (In my last sales position I made appr $70k/yr.) Then I wasasked via email to schedule a phone interview. I spent appr. 8 hours of my time preparing for this interview. The interview lasted appr 2 minutes. The interviewer was 10 minutes late in calling me, there was no human or rapport building on her part, went straight to questioning.
1st Q: why are you looking for a PT job?
2nd Q: this job requires carrying 40 lbs of merchandise. is that acceptable to you?
3rd Q: this job requires using a handheld computer. is that acceptable to you?
4th & final Q: this job pays $12/hr. is that acceptable to you? (I said no and the interviewer immediately ended the call).
I was shocked and surprised to learn that Hershey does not value 20 yrs of professional experience and a college degree and that they expect to pay someone with that background the same as someone w/a GED and no professional experience. I was also disheartened that they didn't share the non-negotiable pay rate up front, thereby wasting 8 hours of my time! (I would never have applied for the job in the first place had I known the payrate.) I shared this same feedback with the recruiter, but have a strong suspicion nothing will change with their process.

Interviewed Oct 2009 (took 3 weeks)
Preliminary Phone Interview w/ Recruiting Company, Secondary Phone Interview w/ hiring Mgr. Process seems about what one would expect as a candidate for hire with a large corporate entity like Hershey. The Process for going from the online application to the preliminary interview only took about 3 days. then a few days for a contact from the hiring Mgr. and setting a phone interview date.
