Interviewed Oct 2011 in Houston, TX (took 1+ week)
Had phone interviews with manager, technical coworker, then business procurement manager. Each interview was roughly one hour. The manager interview covered background and interests and went well. The technical coworker went in some depth technically, which I was very rusty on. The business procurement manager interview covered roles & responsibilities and business environment, which went fine.
Given my time zone is Houston (Central), the job would necessarily involve significant evening hour work working with west coast suppliers and pacific rim development partners. Management seemed reasonable so maybe some flex time arrangement would work, but HP's employment system categorizing the work as a "day job" is just plain wrong.
I did not get the job because there was another candidate with the "inside track." Everyone was up-front about the situation so I wasn't offended at all. I looked at it as some good interview experience.

Interviewed Mar 2011 in Houston, TX (took 2 weeks)
Received an email from the hiring manager 2-3 days after applying for the position, who asked to set up a phone interview. Phone interview was simply a brief review of my skills and competencies and a detailed description of job responsibilities. Manager was friendly and positive, and stated that I would be contacted by HR to set up an on-site interview. Travel was arranged within the week by the company, and the on-site interview, conducted a week later, involved several 1:1 discussions with various members of the team. Team members were most interested in my research topics and understanding of heat transfer, and they welcomed my questions about their work. The interview process took about 4 hours, ending with the manager informing me that I can expect an offer. A day later, an official offer was extended, which I accepted.

Negotiation Details
Before leaving I informed the manager of other offers and interviews I was expecting (without getting too specific), and I believe that helped expedite the hiring process to some degree.

Interviewed Mar 2011 in Houston, TX (took 3 weeks)
Got the interview from talking to the recruiter at a career fair at my university. Got emailed to sign up for an interview for the next week. Had a 1:1 interview and then was emailed for a second interview. Second interview was a Panel interview with 4 managers. They called me the next week with the offer.

Negotiation Details
Not much negotiation. I know they had given me a signing bonus since the location was far from where I lived so I could pay for a place near them, although I know someone who did not get the bonus since he already lived close.
Other Details
I got the interview through a College or University and the interview consisted of a 1:1 Interview and a Group/Panel Interview.

Interviewed Jun 2009 in Houston, TX (took 2 days)
It was an 1:1 interview with the VP first, followed by a panel interview by managers under him. The first one went well. I got a lot of insight into the management style of the VP and his visions for the business. The second interview a few days later was odd in that one of the managers was acting a little strange in that she kept asking touch quesitons one after another and appeared to be contentious. I learned afterwards that she already had someone in mind who she would like to have working in the same group. Other managers were kind and helpful, but the awkwardness was clearly felt by everyone.

Interviewed Mar 2011 in Houston, TX (took 4 weeks)
I applied online for the position of Financial Analyst and within three weeks I was notified via e-mail that HR wanted to schedule a phone interview with me. I was asked thirteen questions which had multiple components to them. My responses were recorded and delivered to the selection committee. Two days after the phone interview with HR, I had a 30-minute phone interview with the hiring manager. The following week, I had a 1:1 interview with two managers and the department director. The 1:1 interviews were scheduled in 30-minute blocks. The hiring manager stated that I would be notified of the final decision (favorable or unfavorable) but I never received a response.
