Interviewed Mar 2010 in Houston, TX (took 1+ week)
I participated in a pretty standard phone interview where it was obvious they were looking for specific answers to project management skills questions. This process seems to have been used to weed out candidates that did not meet qualification requirements.
The group interview at the 2nd level was more of a personality test. As the questions were more hypothetical "what would you do" and "how would you respond". This round seemed to be more about finding the right person to fit in with the existing team.

Negotiation Details
There was not much need for negotiation, as standard benefits were acceptable.
Don't be afraid to ask for recognition of your experience and time working at another company. Vacation seems to be a big thing that companies want you to start over at 2-3 weeks even if you have 10+ years of experience in your field. Ask for the same vacation benefits you had earned at your previous position.

Interviewed Dec 2009 in Houston, TX (took 2 days)
Had a couple of pre-screening interview for a position of Infrastructure lead (Dont remember the exact title). First round was with recruiter who asked some general questions and expectations and goal, Why do you want to move to a new company etc.
Second round was more technical in nature, unfortunatly the technology was something i was not famiiar with and i think thats where I lost it. Mostly key technical questions like how would you install an AD Domain controller after a crash.

Interviewed Nov 2009 in Houston, TX (took a day)
There were typical skill based questions, since the position involves being rotated through marketing, finance, and operations. One question was "which of these areas is your weakness?" I replied finance. The next few questions were all about finance. The interviewer was very personable and friendly, though, and I believe was not an HR representative but someone flown to my university to assist in interviewing.

Interviewed Oct 2009 in Houston, TX (took a day)
the company doesnt know what they are hiring for. you can only hope they put you in a position that you like.
it's difficult to show interest when you are in the unknown.
the interview was mostly behavioral. they have a sheet of questions they ask and then they take notes on it.
Interview Questions
a lot of the questions are very similar to one another i guess you need to have two answers for each question because they might ask you a second time.

Interviewed Mar 2008 in Houston, TX (took 5 days)
The whole experience was great. The first initial response was very timely and they didnt keep you hanging. My interview started with a phone interview and then if i was going to make it to the second set I would need to come to Houston for a 2.5 hour interview with 5 employees. I was told about 4 possible positions and each person went into detail about each one of them. I then had to put in order of what my preferences were. A few days later I received another set of call backs from 2 of the managers that I had picked as my top 2 choices. They then went into further detail about the job. Once I made my final decision (product marketing management) I received my job offer in 3 days. During the whole process I made sure to send thank you letters to each and every person that I came into contact with. Also, when I had the 5 back-to-back interviews it wasn't about them grilling me about my experiences, but it was mostly them trying teach me about each individual jobs and what I would be doing. So it was a very good experience because the spotlight wasn't on me the whole time. Additionally, compared to other companies that I have applied to before, Hewlett Packard stood out as a company that isn't there to waste anyone's time and they also respond in a timely manner. I am been working at HP for almost a year now and I love this work environment and the people that I am surrounded by everyday. Even though it is a worldwide company with over 10,000 plus families - they structure your organizations to feel like tiny families.

Negotiation Details
There was much negotiation when it came to my offer due to the fact that I was fresh out of college and was applying for an entry-level position. I was asked what I would like to receive but I came back with the question "How much does a employee typically make in this position?" The whole time prior to waiting to hear a "number" I had different expectations. In the end what they offered me was more than I had expected - so therefore I didn't feel the need to negotiate.
