Interviewed Sep 2009 in Sacramento, CA (took a day)
Brief. I was who they were looking for. The work I do is so specific, there are very few people who can walk right into an operation and be up and running day one. there was no learning curve.

Interviewed Jan 2011 in Roseville, CA (took 5 weeks)
I was contacted for a phone interview that took about 45 minutes. During this interview, I was asked about my past experiences, my current job, and what I want to be doing. I was asked many technical questions, mostly on the subject of digital logic and programming. I was only asked one, terribly simply analog electronics question.
I was then called in for an in-person interview. This took over 5 hours and included six interviewers. The first and last interviewers asked behavioral questions and the inevitable "why do you want to work here" question. Those in-between asked technical questions.

Interviewed Aug 2010 in Roseville, CA (took 3 weeks)
I had a phone interview with HP first one lasted for about 30 minutes. .The interview went on well.I was again contacted for another phone technical interview. It was for 45 minutes, I enjoyed the interview.
I was told i will be notified either way by the hiring manager.I wrote back to them asking the status of the interview.I wish they could have notified me.It is a basic courtesy that anyone would expect from the company. You put in some effort and expect some answer from the company atleast a reject email or if people are in hold .Why is it not transparent?.

Interviewed Jul 2010 in Roseville, CA (took 2 days)
All communication took place through recruiter, except for interviews. It seemed like the company relied heavily on the recruiter making the initial checks. They seemed eager to hire.
Interview Questions
Reason for Declining
The position did not seem to have enough management support. It looked like it would be a daily battle against co-workers, didn't see much chance for success or growth.
Other Details
I got the interview through a Recruiter and the interview consisted of a Phone Interview and a 1:1 Interview.

Interviewed Apr 2010 in Rancho Cordova, CA (took 1 week)
I applied for a Business Analyst II position with HP-EDS 3 weeks prior to the first correspondence. The entire process happened as follows:
1) Initial call Monday
2) Recieved letter of interest Tuesday and resume is forwarded
3) Thursday scheduling interview date
4) Recieved email from recruiter with relevant work experience questionnaire. Friday
5) Recieved reply from recruiter the following Monday.
6) Interview. Following tuesday.
7) Informal job offer 2 hours after interview by phone.
8) Formal offer letter by email Following Wednesday.
The interview process was a group panel interview with manager and leads of each department (Total of 3 people) involved with the position I applied for. They went one by one down the resume using it as a check list. Then cross referencing skills with the job description and asked me to elaborate on skills and how it was used in my previous work experience.
Then came the hard part. The hypothetical situations questions. They asked the questions answered from the questionnaire submitted by the recruiter and it was important to stay consistent. It felt like a lie detector test (not in a bad way).
Overall they were consistently professional across the board from the recruiter tot he interviewers. Fast responses to emails calls. Very positive experience.

Negotiation Details
On the questionnaire it asked for previous salary and then desired salary. I put a range in there and they chose the upper range so I didn't do any negotiating. I was happy with the offer. However if it was lower than my previous salary and I know I was taking on more responsibilities I definitely done a counter offer.
Other Details
I Applied Online and the interview consisted of a Phone Interview, a Group/Panel Interview, a Skills Test and a Personality Test.

Interviewed Nov 2009 in West Sacramento, CA (took 5 days)
Interview was scheduled by a local manager, not the hiring manager. It was a panel behavioral interview, with questions like "tell me about a time when..." I could tell that one of the individuals was a member of the team I was interviewing for, another seemed to be an unbiased participant, and I couldn't tell about the other individual. Panel members were friendly and wiling to answer questions. After the interview, HR recruiter was available for questions but did not offer any more details regarding corp policy and benes than what was available online. Offer process was handled electronically and one week was given for a decision.
