Interviewed Oct 2011 in Houston, TX (took 1+ week)
Had phone interviews with manager, technical coworker, then business procurement manager. Each interview was roughly one hour. The manager interview covered background and interests and went well. The technical coworker went in some depth technically, which I was very rusty on. The business procurement manager interview covered roles & responsibilities and business environment, which went fine.
Given my time zone is Houston (Central), the job would necessarily involve significant evening hour work working with west coast suppliers and pacific rim development partners. Management seemed reasonable so maybe some flex time arrangement would work, but HP's employment system categorizing the work as a "day job" is just plain wrong.
I did not get the job because there was another candidate with the "inside track." Everyone was up-front about the situation so I wasn't offended at all. I looked at it as some good interview experience.

Interviewed Jul 2010 in Conway, AR (took 2 weeks)
I first started with a phone interview which lead to an offer to go to the HP site and interview next. The interview process at the site took 4 hours and had about 80 people interviewing there. First they gave us a little background on HP and the site, as well as the job. Afterwards, we took a multiple choice skills test as well as a group "test" where we had to build a structure as tall as possible with only marshmallows and kabob sticks (used to test how well we work with others and how quickly we could catch onto the task). After that we were split up and had two one-on-one interviews with supervisors from the site. About a business week later I received a call with an offer. I accepted.

Interviewed Jun 2011 in Fort Collins, CO (took 2 weeks)
There were two initial phone interviews. Next I had a panel interview with around six people. They each took turns asking specific questions about past experiences and how I would handle specific situitions. Next I was called to discuss my expectations for compensation. The offer came a few days later.

I was disappointed with the interviewer. The call came in from Mexico and I could barely understand the lady. The interview questions were about Java and they were only definition questions. If you are about to apply, brush up on basic Java definitions.
