Interviewed Nov 2011 (took a day)
All day interview process consisting of a short information system with a small group of applicants, 2 different 1-hour interviews with possible sectors that could be placed in if offered a job, lunch with current IT Development program participants and recent grads, and then another information session and wrap up. Everyone involved was polite, kind, personable, helpful, and accommodating. They were only looking for a small, limited amount of new employees in the program and had already offered most positions away; also dependent on Pittsburgh or Harrisburg placements and preferences.

Interviewed Sep 2011 (took 2 weeks)
The phone interview was just what you would expect. They let you know they have received and reviewed your electronic resume and application;the basic questions of how long you've worked in the insurance industry, types of situations typically handled, ability to close and so forth. Then the phone interviewer tells you you've been selected to move on to the assessment testing and they schedule an appointment with you and you are told the assessment will take about 3 hours.
On the day of the test a few other people will also be scheduled at the same time. You will be seated in the waiting room for about a half hour then the receptionist will come over and tell you that the test administrator is running late. In an hour the administrator still has not arrived but the office manager that couldn't give the test is now having you go to a cubicle to begin the tests. Hhhmmmm a little game playing here? While you take the tests the office workers congregate in the cubicle beside you and talk, very distracting and disrespectful.
When I finished my test I looked at the clock and exactly 3 hours had passed, I knew at that time if I were offered to move on to the next step I would be turning them down because I don't want to work for a company that has a need to make-up bogus scenarios to see how people will react. I'll just keep the job I have.

Interviewed Jul 2011 in Pittsburgh, PA (took a day)
Highmark outsources their first stage of the recruiting process, so the first interview is a phone screen where the outsourcing company asks questions posed by the hiring manager and determines whether or not you move to the next step.
In this instance, I was asked to come in for an interview about five days after I did the phone screen. I met with the hiring manager and had what I perceived as a fantastic interview. I was kept longer than scheduled to meet with the department VP for another hour. This also went well and ended with a conversation asking me "so you'd be able to start very soon? Excellent!" To me - good signs! I followed up in two weeks and was told that their interviews were not completed. Two weeks following I checked in once more with no reply. A few days later I received the auto-email from their job posting system informing me the job was not being filled or had already been filled.
I did not care for how I was informed. I felt that I developed a great rapport with both levels I met with and after communicating with each other via e-mail, to receive nothing other than an auto-email was a bit of a let down.

Interviewed Jun 2011 (took 1 week)
Applied online and heard back (via automated e-mail) within 24 hours. Asked to schedule phone interview and given choice of dates within the next week. Phone interview went well, comfortable conversation, "past experience" types of questions. Told I'd hear back within the week. Didn't hear anything and followed up with the interviewer. Didn't hear back after leaving a message with her, either.
