Interviewed Sep 2007 in Atlanta, GA (took 2 days)
I was called about three weeks after filling out the online application. I was given a brief phone interview, most of which involved attitudes on customer service. An interview with an assistant manager was scheduled a few days later. This interview was fairly intensive, nearly an hour long, and involved questions about customer service, honesty, work ethic, sales technique, work history, and a few customer/employee roleplays. I was given an immediate job offer with somewhat generous pay but insufficient hours.

Negotiation Details
I was offered better pay than I expected, so there was little negotiation involved. Offers seem to be extended based on age and work history, and are minimally negotiable. If you have extensive, related work history, or management experience, your chances of negotiating a higher rate of pay are better (inexperienced lot associates and cashiers are a dime a dozen, kitchen designers are not). I accepted the job on the understanding that I would be offered full time after 90 days, pending a good review. This DID NOT happen; it took me over a year to get full time status, and I have since learned that this is very common. If you are looking for a full time job and are offered part time, do not expect to earn full time status with Home Depot quickly or easily.
Other Details
I Applied Online and the interview consisted of a Phone Interview, a 1:1 Interview, a Drug Test and a Background Check.
