Interviewed Oct 2010 in Phoenix, AZ (took a day)
It was a panel interview with 3 people. They all asked technical questions including describing cash flow statement and how it flows through to the balance sheet & P&L. They also asked behavioral questions like 5 year goals, describing how I handled a stressful situation, what big things I've accomplished in the past with work. I rate a difficult as some of the technical questions I hadn't reviewed in years, for those to be sprung on me as a senior analyst was surprising.

Interviewed Aug 2011 in Phoenix, AZ (took 5 weeks)
The Honeywell recruiter contacted me by phone to do an initial screening. About one week later the hiring manger called me to set up an onsite interview. The interview consisted of the manager and two other engineers in the group. The questions were straight forward and specific to the job. They do have a series of “situation” or “boiler plate” questions they are required to ask such as describe a time when a project was late and what you did to get it back on track. This group didn’t ask any silly, pointless “if you were a vegetable what kind would you be?” type of questions. The interview lasted an hour and a half. It was supposed to be an hour but the interest level was high from both me and the interviewers so we kept going. I see several negative comments posted but like anything I believe it depends on the hiring manager and the interviewee. My experience was good; it was the type of work I was looking for so it worked out.
It took about 3 weeks for the hiring manager to get back to me because he had a several people being interviewed. Part of the wait was just waiting on HR to give him the go ahead with the offer. Once I accepted the offer it took another two weeks for to go through the background check and drug screening. The entire process from interview to start date took 7 weeks (with me giving a two week notice to my previous employer).

I accepted the offer outright. For me this was a lateral move salary I was interested in getting out of my previous job and getting back into this type of work.

Interviewed Mar 2011 in Phoenix, AZ (took 6 weeks)
I applied for an entry-level accounting and finance rotational program on a college job board. I was granted an interview that was conducted with two people on campus. I was called back for a second interview at the office that consisted of a one-on-one interview as well as second interview with two interviewers. About a week later I received both a phone call and an official offer letter and was given ten days to respond.

Negotiation Details
I was currently enrolled in graduate school and negotiated my start date and they were very accommodating. For this new graduate rotational program, I would advise against negotiating salary because it is a standard starting salary for all new hires in the program.

I got the interview through a College or University and the interview consisted of a 1:1 Interview, a Group/Panel Interview, a Drug Test and a Background Check.

Interviewed Aug 2011 in Phoenix, AZ (took 4 weeks)
Interviewed for two positions during the month of August. First was the Simulation Software Engineer III position and the second was Senior Software Engineer. The SSE III position interview started with a technical phone interview and continued with an extensive test requiring C++ and openGL coding and knowledge. Submitted test and participated in second technical phone interview. Told during the second phone interview test results were exceptional. Went for an on-site interview. Not much technical questions just shown around the plant. However, was asked a couple of questions that did not relate to the position or engineering at all: 1) if you could be a superhero who would it be and why; 2) what fruit or vegetable would you want to be and why? This told me that they were looking for an artist not an engineer. Thought the interview went great; however, did not get an offer. They had a range for salary I told them the high end so thought this might have something to do with the non-offer. Also, beware of the tricky artistic questions, I was unprepared for them and answered them the best I could, but still don't know what these questions had to do with technical engineering.
Second interview was with another department within Honeywell. The first interview was technical phone interview followed by an on-site interview. The problem with this interview was the rec did not reflect the position that they interviewed me for. Also, the interview was in a small office with 3 people asking technical questions. As a result, the interview was like a pinball that bounced all around without focus or organization. Did not get an offer.
In summary, would not interview with Honeywell again. They say that they want to become leader in industry and rise above the radar, but do not act like it. Still the same old company with the same old hiring philosophy! The thinking is offer the lowest salary they can regardless of the experience you have for the position. In fact, they stopped giving relocation which screams volumes of their "low salary" philosophy.
Bottom-line don't waste your time applying for these positions. Huge waste of time and effort and you will be disappointed with the salary offer without relocation or not an offer at all.
By the way, I worked for a company that wants to be "the employer of choice". As a consequence, they offer competitive salaries, good technical work, and relocation. Can you guess - RAYTHEON!

Interviewed Jan 2011 in Phoenix, AZ (took 4 weeks)
I was initially contacted by an agency who connected me with Honeywell. The position did not include relocation and I was very clear and up front with the agency about not being interested in the job unless Honeywell was going to put up some relocation. The agency person followed up with me and said he talked to Honeywell and they still wanted to talk to be and would see what they could do about relocation. Talked to the recruiter all through Email which was my choice due to my current work load to set up the phone interview. The recruiter did attempt to call and was very resposive to my email's got back to me within 24hrs and gave me a list of day and times for the phone interview which was very accomodating. In my email's I again let hte recruiter know that relocation would be necessary and she told me the manager would still like to talk to me. I had a phone interveiw with the manger. It was extremely basic, tell me about your career history. I was embarassed for the HR Director, this was not a very professional phone interview and he really didn't seem interested. At the end of the interview he said I understand you need relocation and the job doesn't have relocation. This is just not professional and wasted my time. #1 I was not looking they reached out to me. #2 I told them 3 times and used the words I don't want to waste your time because I am not interested if you are not willing to relocate. #3 Three weeks after a phone screen is too long to follow-up with someone. Honeywell is a billion dollar company and the fact it was more important to save $120,000 on a full relocation package shows that they are really not interested in having the best talent or they have serious budget issues. I find all this disturbing for a company that is trying to be an industry leader. I would suggest people do a lot of research and talk to someone on the inside before interviewing or going to Honeywell. They did how erver give me a ball park salary range of $120,000 to $150,000. I hop this helps.

Interviewed Jun 2009 in Phoenix, AZ (took a day)
I found the job posting on the web. The interview was a one:one interview with the hiring manager. It was a typical interview. My advice for applicants to this company is that a technical background in the field is a preferred asset.

Interviewed Jan 2008 in Phoenix, AZ (took 3 weeks)
Introduction to company was via personal introduction by a high-level employee. First meeting was informational with executive level. Second meeting was an interview with the hiring manager for the position. Third meeting was 2 person panel interview. Know the company, the business and the work environment. Honeywell has excellent employees, so hiring from within is the norm.

Interviewed Jun 2009 in Phoenix, AZ (took 4 weeks)
After applying for the position on-line, I received a phone call from their corporate recruiter for a phone screen. He asked me a few questions regarding my resume and detailed the job a little further before determining that he would schedule an interview in Phoenix with me. I had to wait a few weeks before he came to Phoenix for the first interview, then after a successful first interview they flew me to Dallas to interview with the Corporate office. Once that was successful, I did my third round of interviews in the Phoenix office where I would be working and immediately received a job offer within 24 hours after the interview in Phoenix.
