Interviewed Aug 2010 in Houston, TX (took 2+ weeks)
Hiring Manager did not seem to understand the job requirements. The position was strategic and large international project directed; however his questions were all related to tactical manufacturing responsibilities (e-auctions, writing POs) for a position that will not conduct e-auctions nor write POs.
I have 20+ years experience that matched the job description exactly and excellent references from current employees. Believe that this hiring manager had already chosen his candidate and was going through the motions to meet a metric. Neither manager norcompany contacted me to advise that the position had been filled by another candidate

Interviewed Oct 2009 (took 2+ weeks)
Very into the behavioral interview process and the Honeywell Behaviors. Wasn't lucky enough to get an offer, but I was an underclassman at the time. Still a good experience none the less. After two interviews with Honeywell I still found it hard to come up with answers for all of their behavioral questions but that is probably due to my lack of work experience

Interviewed Jan 2010 in Northford, CT (took a day)
I was interviewed over the phone then scheduled for 1:1 interviews a few days later.
I sent follow-up e-mails, received no response for about 2 months. Then, I receive a call asking me to come in for a follow-up interview.
I respectfully declined. Clear contradiction between communication noted in the interview process and the high marks for organizational communication presented to me during interviews.

Interviewed Mar 2010 (took a day)
The phone interview was about 1 hour long. It consisted of general questions and technical questions. I was interviewed by a panel of 3 persons: the hiring manager, and two other technical managers. The technical questions involved mostly of what I have done on my job recently. Overall, the questions were fairly straight forward, so it was not a very stressful or intimidating experience.

Received and Declined Offer
|
Interviewed Jun 2010 (took 4+ weeks)
Initial interview was very basic - questions about my background, where I grew up, my family and kids, church, etc. It seemed to be very informal and unstructured format. Most of the companies I have interviewed with have pre-printed questions and keep me occupied for 50-55 minutes of the hour and leave 5-10 minutes for my questions. These interviews were 15 minutes of Q&A about me and the rest was unstructured.
Reason for Declining
The people I interviewed with did not seem to be very energized or polite at their work site. I felt like I was at a wake and everyone was waiting for the wake to end. Apparently, the company has made several cuts over the past 2 years to employees' base pay, benefits, 401k match, etc. A lot of people have left the company already and I now know why.

Interviewed May 2010 (took a day)
Honeywell contacted for a phone interview. It was a standard phone interview, with some behavioural questions and personality type questions. This was very normal quesitons about groupwork, relevant experience communication ability. Then a few weeks later contacted for assessment center. The assessment center comprised of 2 group activities and a presentation on the company.

Interviewed Jan 2010 in Phoenix, AZ (took a day)
There was a dinner the night before to meet all of the interviewees and then 4 interviews the next morning. Each interview focused on 2 of the Honeywell Behaviors. It was a very systematic interview and feedback was given within a few days. To prepare for the interview, make sure you review the 12 Behaviors and have an example prepared in the STAR format.
