Interviewed Apr 2012 in Houston, TX (took a day)
Interview took about 35 mins. Asked basic Linux Web Server admin type questions.
I got the impression, though this position does not necessarily involve interacting directly with clients they do want people who can give good customer support so there were several customer support type questions as well.
e.g What is the most frustrating thing about dealing with a client?
What is the most satisfying thing about customer support?

Interviewed Jan 2012 in Houston, TX (took a day)
Applied online at http://hostgator.com/jobs. Was contacted by someone from HostGator (HG) who was a recruiting coordinator for the company. She emailed me and said they would like to set up a phone "interview" and asked for my availability. Once the date and time was confirmed they sent me another email confirming such. Day of they sent another email confirming the phone interview and the time it was scheduled for. All very nice and helpful. In the email it also described some of the things you would need for the "interview". It suggested I would need an SSH client and described some of the topics that would be covered in the interview.
Interestingly enough, it said I was allowed to use any resource available to me to answer the questions (Internet, books and such) and that there was no time limit to the test, however, they did take into account the length of time it took to complete a question.
This is where I should clarify, the phone interview wasn't really an interview at all. It's strictly a skills test that involves using your computer and an SSH client to login to a test evaluation server they have and performing tasks and answering questions. At no point during the "interview" was I asked any personal questions about my background or anything of that nature. It was simply, "Hello, how are you. Do you have an SSH client? Ok good, here's the IP address of the server you'll be logging into".
This approach is likely due to the number of applicants they receive because of their large scale advertising on billboards. I previously lived in Nashville, TN where I saw them on the interstate and after moving to Houston, TX (where one of their offices are located) I saw many more. This is fine and dandy, but it really means you have to have top notch chops in order to do well on the skills test.
I unfortunately probably didn't have that. I consider myself a good Linux user, and have self taught myself basic system administration through things I've learned on the Internet and through the help of friends and IRC.
Some of the questions were very basic and I could answer easily. Others not so much.

Interviewed Dec 2011 in Houston, TX (took a day)
Applied on-line, got an email from recruiter to schedule a technical interview over the phone next day. The interviewer was very friendly. It lasted about 40minutes and the questions were good (break-fix scenarios) I had a good time!... couple minutes later I had an offer from the recruiter via email.

Reason for Declining

Interviewed Jun 2011 in Austin, TX (took a day)
The application process was fairly lengthy through the website, but it definitely allows them to get a good glance at who you are prior to being interviewed. I received an email the next day from the HR department with a phone number to call if I was interested in setting up an interview. I called and HR was very friendly. We setup an interview for the following week. The interview was performed by a System Administrator Shift Lead who had a few pages of questions to ask. The questions were not very difficult, although he said the questions were set up to make you fail. After going through a few pages of questions over Linux services, how to stop/start/restart them, ports and general Linux commands, he had me show him that I knew my way around a shell in a "break-fix" scenario.

Reason for Declining
The offer was quite a bit lower than what I was anticipating.

Interviewed Feb 2011 in Houston, TX (took a day)
I was first contacted by a Host Gator recruiter and informed about the position. Interview was quick and painless, I interviewed on a Monday, got a call back on a Friday, the person who interviewed me was a cool guy, nice and easy to actually speak too.
If you know your stuff, you'll do fine during the interview process, if you do not know the minimum why apply?
Either way, was a nice quick and painless interview they flew me out from California and also paid for my relocation. Finding a place was not too hard, took a painless 1 night to move into my new place.

Interviewed Oct 2010 in Austin, TX (took a day)
I applied online, received an e-mail to schedule an interview day and time. I was called and interviewed promptly on time. The questions weren't hard and consisted of basic linux skills. You wouldn't need any sort of job history to pass this, just need to know what you are doing with linux. I never even went to school, and still passed. If you can't pass this, then there is absolutely now way that you could ever do this job, so don't feel bad, just get another one.
I talked to the CTO for my interview, he was very nice. Some of the questions he asked, I was slightly unfamiliar with what he was asking, so I walked him through my thought processes, and he really enjoyed that.
Advice to any one in the future would be to learn basic linux skills. Questions consist of:
1. How to list mysql processes
2. How to do linux permissions (I.E. 777 - rwxrwxrwx)
3. Know DNS, CNAME, A Record, spf, txt, ptr, mx
4. Know how to list processes on the machine, and kill them
5. Know how to mitigate attacks against a server
6. Know what LAMP means, as well as general terms for current technology
7. Be polite, and honest.

Interviewed Aug 2010 in Austin, TX (took a day)
Quick interview over the phone that was very uncomfortable and fast paced. I was interviewed by the deputy CTO who was very rude and cut me off numerous times. His questions were all technical with no personal history. Coming right out of college, he shouldn't expect the person he is interviewing to be an expert at everything.
