Since JCPenney rarely gives out full-time positions to begin with, the most hours you can receive in a week is 35. I told them that I wanted at least 20 hours a week, but that I would prefer those hours to be split in a few days (6-8 hours spread among three days) rather than throughout the week (3-4 hours spread over 6-7 days). My commute was a little far, so they understood.
