There are around three hundred million people in the United States. We can assume that two thirds are adults. Let us assume three fourths of those adults are married. Each single adult or married couple represents a household. Each household consumes "X" number of light bulbs a year (I do not have a good number for this). Multiply "X" by the number of households.
