Using relative measures. (AKA: I wouldn't, I would let the market decide) This was a dicey question, given that gold produces no income or dividends, has very few industrial or commercial applications and is tied heavily to currency movements.

The question was not technically difficult. It was apparent, however, that, despite the abstract nature of precious metals valuation, the interviewer believed there to be a very specific 'correct' response. (I believe I provided it.)
