Interview Question for Part Time Sales at Chico's FAS:

I said that when I worked with Verizon communications, I was trained to interview the customer and find out his or her needs before suggesting a service to sell. In Chico's I thought that this would be the right way to sell clothing to a customer. I would ask her if she is shopping for an occasion that is special? If the person just wants to look around on her own, I would back off, give my name and check with her later.
If the customer is angry at the store for some reason, I would ask leading questions, and try to get to the root of the unhappiness.
This type of answer seemed to satisfy my manager.
