The correct answer was to use a Trace, and the interviewer suggested it fairly quickly when he realized, aided by the fact that I didn't try to pretend I had an answer, that I wasn't going to get this one. I think that's key, if you have an idea how to solve it, they'll help you out and guide you to see your thinking. But if you're completely unsure about the answer, say so honestly, I don't think they appreciate wasting time.

Interview Question for Financial Software Engineer at Bloomberg L.P.:

How would you find bugs in a very large program. This is one of the few questions I wasn't able to answer to my satisfaction at least, since I hadn't worked with large programs and were still limited to small simple debugging techniques
