Interviewed Jan 2012 (took 3 days)
Phone screening consisted of speaking to my experience and explaining why I wanted to work at AOL. Very straightforward and fast-paced, but impeded by a poor phone connection. In the end they said they went with another candidate.

Received and Declined Offer
|
Interviewed Apr 2011 in New York, NY (took 2 weeks)
After working as an AOL editor, I went through the process of being converted from AOL freelancer to HuffPo staff member. I had three rounds of interviews--one with group supervisor, another with managing editor and final one with AH herself and her assistant. Meeting with AH was all of 5 minutes--a cordial meet and greet. All interviews were less than 15 minutes each.

Reason for Declining
Received verbal offer from extremely prickly HR person. I asked a few questions about salary and job description and when I'd get a written offer. Two days later, the offer was rescinded.
Other Details
I applied In-Person and the interview consisted of a 1:1 Interview.
