Interviewed Oct 2011 in Chicago, IL (took 2 months)
The interview process was very fair based on what was posted on Huron's career website. My interviewers seemed very focused on determining fit and commitment, and stayed very accessible for questions throughout the process. The recruiters were very organized, and the hiring process seemed much more streamlined than other companies I interviewed with.

Interviewed Dec 2011 (took 3 days)
I was able to contact a recruiter through a professional networking site. We emailed back and forth, she asked my availability to speak on the phone with me (wanted to know a little more about me). Received an email 3 or so hrs later asking to schedule an interview for the following day. We scheduled the interview everything was going well. At the end of the interview she stated she needed my transcripts. Well having just graduated with my MHA degree I emailed her my unofficial grad school transcript well it met the 3.0 GPA; however, they wanted my undergraduate GPA as well. So I was able to find a copy of my undergraduate transcript email the information to the recruiter. Now mind you I made it to the 2nd round of interviews. I was recommended to con't by the 1st recruiter I spoke too. Well 30 mins prior to my 2nd interview I received a phone call stating they would not cont with me b/c I did not have a 3.0 in undergrad even though I had it in graduate school. They stated I needed to show how I would work with senior level management that I could still apply for a position at a later date. So clearly what you do in undergrad is more important than the GPA in graduate school.

Interviewed Jan 2012 in New York, NY (took 3 weeks)
I got the interview with Huron through on-campus recruiting. It overall consisted of a resume review, 2-3 behavioral questions and a small case question. The interview was with 2 people, a director and an associate consultant. They were very friendly and did not pressure you in any way.

Interviewed Oct 2011 (took 2 days)
The company interveiw process was informative and fair. All of the people who conducted my interviews were friendly and very open about the positive and negative aspects of the company.
The first round was a basic behavioral interview with the basic questions about leadership and challenges. The second round had another behavioral interview, but also included a case interview. The case interview was not the typical format that you might prepare for if you were using a book like Case in Point. This is not to say that if you prepare by a book like CIP you won't be prepared.

Interviewed Nov 2011 (took 3 weeks)
I met Huron Consulting Group representatives at my career fair earlier in the year and emailed the woman that was in charge of coordinating on campus interviews. A couple weeks later, she got back to me and gave me times to pick for an on campus interview. The interview was 30 minutes long and I was asked the basic questions like "Why Huron Legal" , "Why Consulting?" and resume questions. I was contacted about a week later about picking a date for an office visit. The office visit was 3 weeks after the on campus interview and consisted of a lunch with two other analysts and two other students that were interviewing. Then I had 4 1:1 interviews including a case interview and a behavioral interview. Their website does a good job of outlining the process and they let you know what kind of interviews to expect in advance.

Interviewed Nov 2011 (took 3 weeks)
Applied through school recruiting system. First round consisted of a short 30 minute behavioral interview. Very basic, they were just gauging your interest and fit with the company. Heard back the same day that I got moved on the second rounds the following day. Second round consisted of one 45 minute behavioral interview and one 45 minute case/math interview. The math question was a basic algebra question- they gave you the formula. Just make sure you plug in the right numbers, because unnecessary information will be given. The case question was about improving patient waiting time for the Emergency Department. No knowledge of healthcare is needed, they are just looking to see if you can logically analyze the situation. I was invited for a final round interview. There were four weekends of final rounds to choose from. I had to pick the last one because of my schedule. I went to NYC and the interview round was pretty informal and conversational. It consisted of two 45 minute interviews (one about project and one about the company) and then an hour and half analyst panel (come prepared with lots of questions to ask). After the interview they said they would contact us in the next week. However, I heard back the next morning (not even 24 hours later) with a simple email saying I was not selected for a full-time position. The same thing happened to a friend and we are skeptical that their decisions were already made up. I hope it was not because I chose the later interview date (may be the case). As a result, I would recommend choosing the earlier interview date if you move to finals.
Overall, the people were good. Most are workaholics if that suits you. Very young culture also.

Interviewed Oct 2011 (took 4+ weeks)
The interview process at Huron was very person focused at my school because we were a targeted school for them. We had two rounds of interviews on campus and then one final round of "interviews" in Chicago. There was a misunderstanding between myself and the interviewers that went unnoticed and as a result I did not received an offer. However, I will say that the company was very considerate in terms of scheduling an exit interview to go over why I was not offered a position.
The first round interview was a behavioral interview. Standard questions such as "why Huron?" "why consulting?" "why healthcare" were asked. Basically the way I approached these questions was simply to explain how my education and past experiences have affected my personality and way I carry myself and why those traits are perfectly suited for Huron. I of course also did research on the company and knew about how strong the healthcare practice was and what service line most excited me.
The second round interview was a lot more intense and I almost made a critical error. Do not assume that the interviewers are form HR because most likely they are not. Every interview I had was with a working consultant who had taken time off to do the interviewing. Ask the interviewers questions about their service lines and their experiences in order to gain a better understanding about all of the service lines. There was a case interview and behavioral interview during the second round. The case interview consisted of a situation concerning a fictional hospital that wanted their ED department to be revamped to become more efficient. It was also stated that there were really long wait times at points in time and as the interviewee you had to discuss ways to figure out what information to collect, how to collect the information, how to utilize/analyze information, and what ways would the recommendations be presented. There are a lot of good answers but int his case it is good to note that there was not any information about location provided so I decided to take the case to an urban setting and talk about competition and that most likely, as a direct result of the long waits and inefficiencies there is business being diverted to competitors that we should be be to recoup once changes have been implemented. I also spoke about functional groupings in terms of intake responsibilities and the types of work staff needs to conduct should be coordinated directly with how they are staffed, not with how they are paid. Everyone does not need to see a doctor, etc.
I went to Chicago for their final round interview and as a result of forgetting my cell phone charger, couldn't use my cell phone alarm clock. However, as I have now learned, in this situation; use the wake up call service!!! I forgot to use that and was 10 minutes late to breakfast downstairs. I also misread the email invite that stated there would be interviewers at breakfast too. This was why I wasn't "client ready" in their mind. So if one lapse of judgment over the course of a month is enough to rule you out, I don't know how tolerating they are of slightly imperfect on time records.
I hope this helps the next person trying to become a member of this great company. I am just a little upset that such small things and concerns were not voiced to me in person and addressed in a prompt manner. The post interview format was delayed by two weeks and therefore added to my uncertainty concerning why I was not offered a position.

Interviewed Aug 2011 in Houston, TX (took 8 weeks)
I had a unique interview process. Unlike what their website lays out, my interview process began with a 30 minute phone interview, then an office visit where I had two 45 minute behavioral interviews and a case, then I had another phone interview (or in their words "exploratory conversation") with another Analyst and lastly, another phone interview with a Director.

Interviewed Aug 2011 in Chicago, IL (took 3 weeks)
Shortly after submitting an application through the Huron site, someone from HR contacted me to schedule a brief phone interview. After about 30-45 minutes of explaining my background and answering a couple behavioral questions, the woman told me her colleague would contact me later that week. My second conversation lasted only about 20 minutes and consisted mostly of basic questions about my work experience. I was flown out to Chicago later that week to interview on site with 3 consultants (all managers), who were all very welcoming and easy to talk with and asked me almost exclusively behavioral questions. Early the next week I met with a director in the practice I was interviewing for who was on a project in my area. We had about a 30-minute, very casual conversation about my experience and the position at Huron. A couple days later I received my offer.
