IBM Senior Consultant Interview

Posted Oct 29, 2011 0 of 1 people found this helpful

Accepted Offer – Interviewed in Herndon, VA Oct 2011 – Reviewed Oct 29, 2011

Interview Details – I had a telephone screne with an HR Represenatative that lasted 30 minutes. Within 48 hours, I was notified I would be invited for an in-person 1:1 interview. I interviewed in Herndon, VA for 30 minutes with the Associate Partner in , who was the "top dog" overseeing a 140-person consulting team (Army FIP). He asked me about my most recent employment, but spent most of his time talking about IBM and the project. NOTE: You must be able to tell them (1) what you know about IBM, (2) the assignment/job, and (3) WHY YOU WANT TO WORK FOR IBM. I then interviewed for 45 minutes with a Sr. Manager on the Army FIP Project, who spent most of his time talking to me about IBM's benefits and training. (I had a very good interview with the AP.)

Interview Questions

Negotiation Details – I was told the AP had already signed a special request to get me a salary above the normal range. (Since I am paying my own expenses to relocate to metro-DC, I asked if he could seek a higher salary to help compensate for relo expenses.) I could have (should have?) asked for separte relo expenses. However, the recruiter had indicated no relo was available.

Other Details - I applied through a recruiter and the process took 2 weeks.
