I applied in-person and the process took 4 weeks - interviewed at IBM in June 2010.

Interview Details – Interview was more about expectations from the post. Senior hire interviews are more of discussions than interviews.

Interview Questions

  • How would you manager employee demand for salary and band hike, because there is very little a people manager can do about it. IBM policies are very rigid.   View Answer
  • How would you manage attrition due to low salaries, hikes, no-promotions while the competition offers good hikes to your employees.   View Answer

Negotiation Details – IBM salaries are ordered according to Band and not much negotiation is possible. Ask for a 30% plus raise as yearly raises is negligible and you may get frustrated after some time. Ensure you are satisfied with the CTC before accepting the offer.
