This was applying for a position internally. IBM employees in Global Services apply for jobs that are contracts on clients accounts. You are on your own to get that next position within IBM once your current client contract is over. Sometimes you do not hear back. The competition within IBM for any of the few (today0 internal jobs posted is fierce as IBM trims the older American workforce. It is up to you to sell yourself to the deployment or business manager that owns the contract. IBM no longer provides training money to US workers so you have to be aggressive at building your own skills at your own expense and time. You are required to build your skills by submitting an education plan that is formal. The plan is reviewed on deciding to keep you or lay you off in the next round.
Interview Questions
Negotiation Details
None. They accept you to an internal post or not. If you do not get onto a new contract you will probably be laid off in the next (frequent) round as IBM drastically trims American workers.
Other Details
I Applied Online and the interview consisted of a Phone Interview.

Interviewed Jan 2009 (took 2 days)
Interview lasted about 1.5 hour - started off easy with simple questions like my education and when I plan on graduating. Moved onto lots of technical questions and about my past experience. I also remember answering a lot of typical behavioral questions that seemed repetitive in every interview. Final question was, what does IBM stand for?

Interviewed Jun 2008 (took 1+ week)
This was an interview for a new project within IBM. The search was for jobs listed at the internal IBM website. I applied for a posted contract position using the website process. I followed up by email with information for the hiring business area manager. Several emails were exchanged. I provided examples of my work by attachments. I did some research to recommend approaches and technolgies to provide the solution per the job description in the post.
