Initially interviewed with IBM for my co-op term in school. Had to write an online aptitude test first at home. Time was limited for the test and I don't think I had enough time to finish the test, but the questions weren't too difficult nor tricky. Then had an 1 on 1 interview on campus. It was not a technical/skill interview, and only asked about experience and stuff.
After a few co-op terms, they have opening and so I just continued working there for full time after graduation.

Very speedy interview process – everything happened in one day. Although I appreciated how quickly I was able to complete all three rounds of interviews, I wish I had more opportunity to chat with employees and learn more about the company, and see whether it was the right fit for me.
The first stage was a case problem that was solved in a group environment. The team had 15 minutes to come up with a framework/solution and present it in 5 minutes. I felt it was more important to show your composure and presentation skills rather than trying to get the answer right.
The second stage was a panel interview with your competitors. Very different from what I was used to. I think I only got one question, which was "what three attributes would describe me".
If you're successful in the first two rounds, you get invited to a 1:1 with a SE.

I applied through my university COOP program for a 4 month position. I was called in for an interview
after 2 weeks after applying. At first it was a phone interview, but later changed to a 1:1 interview.
I prepared by researching a bit about IBM, its history, the products it offers, and its vision statement.
I was interviewed by two very nice guys in their 40s who were both project leads at IBM. Interview started off with:
1) Tell us a bit about yourself
2) How do you handle conflicts
3) Talk about one of your development projects
4) Explain a time where you had to work with a team
5) Do you believe that software can be perfect? (The correct answer is NO)
Later on we got to technical questions:
1) Outline the steps of software development life cycle
2) How can you make a database more optimized
3) If you were required to take over a current role as a developer and you saw that the code could be improved (readability, efficiency), would you take the time to make it better? Would you take the time to make changes if you had a short time-tile to complete the project?
4) How would you write a program in JAVA to determine if a string contained any of the given list of characters?
5) Other JAVA related questions (quite fair if you know JAVA)
Overall, the experience was great. There were a lot of things in the job description that I did not know, infact almost the entire list of technical requirements, I had no experience with, or even heard of. However, I kept reiterating to the interviewers that I was a fast learner, and always took initiative to fulfill my responsibilities and would learn many required things before given the opportunity (I would have 2 months to prepare )
I was given the offer later on, and I accepted the opportunity over an offer from CIBC and TELUS.
Looking forward to working for IBM, starting january :)
TIP for future interviewees : KNOW what you put on your resume, don't make stuff up. With technical jobs like this one, interviewers like to test you about stuff you have added to your resume, so make sure you have an idea of what you wrote, and can talk about it in the interview.

I applied for internship position at IBM and got an interview call from the manager. but before that i was asked to write an IPATO test which is not technical at all but it just judges ur aptitude. Most of the students do well in test, It appears hard but i think cut off is very low.
Interview itself was telephonic and all behavioural. Manager was very mature and experienced. She asked me all about my resume and projects and my role in different projects. and how i fulfilled them. No technical question at all.
So make sure u r writng ur resume very thoroughly. she was pretty impressed with me and I even asked her for a feedback which was positive.
I am waiting to hear from them and I guess IBM is a pretty good company to start a career with.

This was an internal transfer between departments. Generally such horizontal moves are treated almost as new jobs where one has to go through a two round interview process. The interviews are with the technical team and with the new department lead. After they have interviewed all candidates, a decision is made fairly quickly and the successful candidate is informed and begins the transition process to the new team.

Be prepared to be tested on some technical skills. Study all the requirements the night before. Interview depends on the interviewer. Mine was very relaxed and I was to talk alot about my previous projects and experience.

The manager asked me the questions and explained the position to me. The questions given were:
Difference between Process and Threads
What is a Thread
Heaps vs Stack
What is Dynamic Programming.
What is a binary tree
The manager assured me that the position was a developer despite my reservations. The compensation offered was a significant drop from my last position for which I had an offer as well, so it did not make sense to go ahead with this one, despite it being at IBM.
