Everyone was very nice and the interview was not difficult. After going through a phone with a recruiter and then an in person I felt that I could make better $ other places. The office solution industry isn't the most exciting.....

Interviewed Jan 2012 (took a day)
Ikon sent out emails to prospects and conducted interviews from 9am - 4pm in their DC office. I arrived at 1pm and was seen 15 minutes later. My interview lasted about 45 minutes. The recruiter wanted to know my salary, duties, and achievements in my previous positions.

Interviewed Oct 2011 (took 2+ weeks)
I had an initial call back/phone interview to review my qualifications, after talking to HR I was scheduled for a 1on1 with the Account Manager, he was nice, well spoken, and allowed for a relaxed atmosphere. I was told by a family friend who works for Ricoh that I needed to end the 1 on 1 with a field ride with a rep. After the interview which took around 30-40 minutes he said there was a rep i might be interested in riding with if I wanted, I was pleased to be invited back.
About a week later I returned and met the rep at 9am for "a day in the field," which served to show prospects what was involved, the rep introduced me to the others in the office and even took me out to lunch (mind you the field ride was all day). When we returned I had all my questions answered about the position, responsibilities, and pros/cons of the job, and let me know he would tell the manager how attentive to the position i was.
The last, and personally most nervous part of the hiring process, was with the branch manager. I had to set up a 5-8 slide presentation about why they should hire me, I came in thinking this is it, one last interview, but as i was getting started the manager blatantly interrupted me, I mean, he completely cut me off a minute in. I was taken back but let him take the reigns. He described the company and asked what I could offer, what makes me personally more motivated, and other behavior/personality questions. After about 15 minutes of the back and forth I continued with my presentation, afterwards he said he need a minute to discuss with the account manager. After about 10 minutes they both returned and offered me the job on the spot.
My advice, do the research, and dress to impress. Have fun with it and stand out.

Interviewed Oct 2011 in Newton, MA (took a day)
Very friendly. Questions about experience and how I would handle certain situations, like if someone on staff didn't show up or equipment broke down. The interviewer tried to be very personable.

Interviewed Jun 2011 in Albany, NY (took 1 week)
I had a great phone interview, however, I was very late because they had moved their office. I was actually disappointed in myself. The interview was with a DM who was probably one of the more competent, intelligent and professional people I'd met with on my job search in general. Despite being late, he met with me anyway, and although he didn't offer me a job, I learned a lot from our discussion. I could see that IKON was a very professional, tight and organized company and I learned from him that the commision based salary for a sales rep was extremely lucrative (100k which was confirmed to me by a sales rep later on). Kind of kicking myself I didn't prep more for this interview op, but it taught me a valuable lesson. I had actually been dumbing myself down after a half dozen lackluster interviews with very inept management personel, but this was an employer that valued intelligence and posessed it, also.

Interviewed Jun 2010 in Dallas, TX (took 3 days)
Met with hiring mgr. Asked typical questions. There was some concern about my lack of software sales experience. I reached out to get a reference from a former employer concerning my ability to learn technology - internet quickly to sell.
2nd interview was with Local VP 1 on 1 in person. Lastly was with Regional VP on the phone.
No structured training was provided in the job. Only online web training from vendor companies. Not a learn as you go type job. You need to understand the products.

Interviewed Jul 2010 (took 2 weeks)
I was recommended for the position, went in for an initial interview. That went well, and I met other people in the office as well as the hiring manager's manager. The mood was relatively casual and there were not as many "interview questions" that were asked. The managers and other sales staff seemed great, friendly, and knowledgeable
