Interview Details – Basics

I applied through a recruiter and the process took 2 weeks - interviewed at IPSoft in April 2010.
Interview Details – There were two interviews, one phone and one in person. First phone interview was mainly general knowledge questions on linux/unix and Java applications. There is also usually one open ended question about how you would go about fixing a web server problem or how you would configure a web server. The in person interview questions tended to be much longer and involved multiple steps. The interview tends to last a few hours and you talks to various people from different teams.
Interview Question – You log into a linux server and you notice no normal GNU utilities seem to be working. You try to ls in a directory and it says that the program doesn't exist. How would you go about displaying the files in a directory? View Answer
Negotiation Details – There wasn't much of a negotiation phase. They made me the initial offer and I accepted.

Interview Details – It is pretty much the same. It starts with a telephonic call from the HR, then few rounds of technical interview (tough) followed by a communication evaluation round.
Interview Question – Be prepared with your technical stuff as they will try to test your technical abilities in every way possible. Answer Question
Negotiation Details – Its the same and no striking difference from other companies.

Interview Question – Questions related to different application servers and its services like JMS, JDBC (Websphere, Weblogic, Tomcat, Resin, JBoss), WebServers configurations (Apache, IBM IHS), SSO tools, Concepts like JMS, JDBC, JTA, JAAS. OpenSource tools like Nagios and Plugins, OpenSSL. Autonomic Computing(Basic Concepts). Answer Question
Negotiation Details – I didn't negotiate since i was a fresher.
I applied through other source and the process took 4+ weeks - interviewed at IPSoft in September 2011.
Interview Details – The salary offered depends on your previous CTC you have. Freshers can expect 3 LPA which is not a bad start at all.
It generally consists of 6 rounds
1) Recruitment officier who will fetch your Resume from online portals like Monster
2) Communication skills round
3) Client round
4) Client round - Technical
5) Manager - Banaglore
6) HR - Salary nego
Negotiation Details – Depends from project to project, Experienced people and Mid level management are offered more .
I applied online and the process took 4+ weeks - interviewed at IPSoft in June 2011.
Interview Details – After HR and first technical round didn't get any response for nealy 15 days. Then another round and then no response for 15 days. Things moved relatively fast after that.
Interview wasn't really demanding in HR stages. Mildly challenging technical rounds. No real negotiation for salary. Accepted the first number I said. Could have easily asked for more.
