Interview Question for Client Partner at SAP Canada:

I found this to be a difficult question as it appealed to my "ambition" and "greed" for power and a high salary - however, the understanding that I was not ready yet for such a role was scary for me and the risk of failure as I didn't feel ready made me say "I would not take it YET - but want the option to revisit it in a few years".
I answered exactly that and the interviewer seemed to like my honesty yet liked that I was "ambitious" enough to be tempted by it and didn't immediately disregard it but evaluated the pros and cons and risks before answering.

My interviewer was a senior regional VP who was relatively young for the role - he also touched on aspects beyond my background including where I had grown up and what my multinational exposure was - that made me feel that they cared enough about their corporate culture to dig deep. The interview lasted over 2 hours and although started off quite "business is business" by the end we were joking together and had a laid back, honest "exchange".
