Interview Question for Sales Associate at Borders:

Before the interview I had looked around the work station and noticed some coupons behind the counter, so I told the interviewer I would offer a replacement to the client to the best of my abilities (the hypothetical situation was behind the coffee counter), offer them the coupons as an additional incentive, and if all else failed turn them over to someone with higher authority, since they might appreciate that their complaint was respected in person by a manager. Knowing when to turn to your supervisor seems to be something they like to hear.
