    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3+ monthsinterviewed at Imagination Technologies (Kings Langley, England (UK)) in May 2015.

    Interview

Telephone interview, asking some problem solving questions about line geometry, weighing 10 balls and find out which is the heaviest in the minimum number of weighs. Describe dataflow through a CD reader. Did not have the experience required to answer fully but gave best attempt. Although was not fast in solving the problem and was not optimised it was a solution. Seems the position was readvertised. Interviewer had already interviewed 50ppl beforehand and not found any of them suitable. Interviewer was patient whilst I was answering questions. Waited 2 months between phone interview and face to face. Was not told outcome until almost a month later when got the recruiter to push for feedback. Reason: Lack of specialised experience for the role.

    Interview Questions

    • Face to face: Encoding a chess set state infomation in an embedded system using minimum number of bits. HR interview afterwards - very generic and difficult to see how it was relevant to the job.   Answer Question

    Interview

Role provided by a recruitment agency. 1st stage was telephone interview, around 30 minutes. 2nd stage consisted of live Skype session with few problem-solving tasks - 30 minutes. 3rd stage was a face 2 face meeting in Kings Langley offices. 4th stage was telephone interview with HR. My application has been rejected because my salary expectations were to high.

    Senior Hardware Design Engineer Interview

Anonymous Employee in London, England (UK)
    No Offer
    Neutral Experience
    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeksinterviewed at Imagination Technologies (London, England (UK)) in February 2015.

    Interview

Interview process started with an online hardware test. There were 18 multiple choice questions with additional 2 essay questions to answer in 40 minutes. The test is quite easy to do for a typical hardware engineer. A few days later there was a one hour phone interview which was about 5 minutes introduction, the rest was technical questions.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeksinterviewed at Imagination Technologies.

    Interview

An online test in C++ programming followed by an on-site interview with the team leader. The test was generic questions about the language to see if you made the effort to do some pre-study reading (a lot of the specifics are rarely used in my opinion so testing how much effort you are prepared to put into the job). The interview was quite informal asking quite difficult problem solving questions.

I applied online. The process took 4+ weeksinterviewed at Imagination Technologies (Kings Langley, England (UK)) in January 2015.

    Interview

I completed an online C test, which was very difficult, then was invited to a f2f interview. It was pretty relaxed and consisted of competency and technical questions, we also went through my CV and they asked questions regarding my CV. I then received another phone interview from HR, I will do this interview soon and I hope it will go well

    Junior Hardware Engineer Interview

    Average Interview

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2+ weeksinterviewed at Imagination Technologies (Kings Langley, England (UK)) in September 2014.

    Interview

At first I had to complete an online test. The questions weren't difficult and everyone in the hardware field should know them. After that test (after some days) I had a telephone interview with the senior engineer of the team. The interview also wasn't difficult and most of the questions were identical with the ones of online test. After that they informed be to go to their company for face2face interview. There they were also friendly and I think it wasn't that difficult too (There is the probability I didn't get to the hard part too)

    Interview Questions

    • At first they asked implementing some sort of function with hardware. After that do it with less hardware. After that design on board a state machine recognising some specific series of 0s and 1s. Finally implementing multiplication of 8 bit numbers with 4 bit multipliers + whatever I needed. Also they asked about read after write problems to processors and things on computer architecture. Also they asked me things on my Thesis.   1 Answer

    Interview

I applied and was invited for a phone interview 2 days after. Although on the website it mentions that more generic questions are asked during the telephone interview, it was quite technical!

Hardware Design Engineer (Summer Placement) Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Kings Langley, England (UK)
    Accepted Offer
    Positive Experience
    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeksinterviewed at Imagination Technologies (Kings Langley, England (UK)) in April 2014.

    Interview

Applied online via their website. After around two weeks they emailed me and arranged a phone interview which comprised of questions such as why did you choose Imagination, what have you studied at university, a little bit about MIPS architecture and questions regarding pipelining, interrupts and a linked-lists in C. A few days after they arranged a Face-to-Face interview with me at their HQ. This comprised of more difficult questions, particularly those at the low-level, things like designing counters in logic, creating a NAND only XOR etc. Just make sure you can do a little Boolean algebra. They're not looking for people who can answer every question perfectly, they're looking for those who think about it and make an attempt regardless rather than those who just say "I can't do it" or "I don't know how".

    Interview Questions

    • Given some binary sequence implement it in logic and then minify it using Boolean algebra/ Karnaugh maps etc   1 Answer

    Negotiation

Salary was specified in the interview. It's fixed for internships.
