Interview Details – ITs tough now. Get you engineerign degree. get qualified in GATE and then sit for the interview and GD. IF qualified you either get to work as an assistant engineer or a officer depends on alot of factors including your educational background and age as well
Interview Question – I was asked to differentiate between qualities of noth and south gujarat crudes based on the UOP characterization factor. View Answer

Very Easy Interview
Assistant Officer Interview (Positive Experience; Average Interview)
I applied online and the process took 4+ weeks - interviewed at Indian Oil in October 2013.
Interview Details – They shortlisted the candidates for interviews on the basis of GATE score.
Firstly, we had a group discussion on any general topic like mine was India in 2020. And, then I had my interview in which they asked mainly about my projects which I had done in my college days and last company.
Interview Question – They started asking about the provisions of IS code. Answer Question
Officer Grade A Interview (Positive Experience; Difficult Interview)
I applied through college or university and the process took a day - interviewed at Indian Oil.
Interview Details – I was a campus hire. The company asked for our resumes a week prior to coming to our college. On the basis of resume and GPA we were called for personal interviews. The panel had mostly engineers and most of them are either General Managers or DGMs. There was no separate HR round. Once the interview started, there were a barrage of questions not necessarily confined to engineering but overall it was mostly technical.

Interview Details – Hiring process is concentrated around one thing: CGPA. anything else wont matter. top rankers are being directly selected in different cast categories for interviews.

Management Trainee Interview (Positive Experience; Average Interview)
I applied online - interviewed at Indian Oil in May 2011.
Interview Details – Was selected for the interview for my GATE 2011 score EE paper. The interview was held in Accord Metropolitan, Chennai. Free travel tickets, free lunch, was good till this point. Then came the group discussion. Was a group of 10.
Then the interview with a panel of 5 gentlemen. All, if not 1, were white hair bearers.
Very keen towards you. Not any troublesome questions, you can answer easily. Started from my intro - interests - why i wanted to join etc - to simple concepts in electrical engineering.
Interview Question – nothin was difficult...you have to be multilingual to answer few questions... Answer Question
Reason for Declining – Got the offer in Jan 2012 (2nd list)...but already got into an IIT to do MTech...So, turned the offer down...

Interview Details – campus recruitment, resume shortlisting followed by interview, results were announced the same day and the offer letter will be sent once you send your final marksheet.
they will give you one months training at delhi office before putting you directly onto job.
Interview Question – Nothing difficult.. simple common mechanical pump questions.. etc Answer Question
Summer Intern Interview (Positive Experience)
I applied through other source and the process took 6 weeks - interviewed at Indian Oil.
Interview Details – They hire both from campus as well as through Gate score.
Interview Question – It has 3 terminals : Pipeline , Refinery & Marketing. As far as marketing is concerned there was not much technical questions . Answer Question
