Interviewed Nov 2011 (took a day)
The interviewer asked me basic questions on my resume and about projects. Overall, it was a nice experience. However his domain was into Digital design which I was not interested in. I had to wait for nearly two weeks to get the reject. It was a 40 minute interview

Not very professional. They only asked about the previous experiences. Could hear a lot of people talking in the background. The person who interviewed me kept shifting rooms cause he had no place to sit and talk.

Interviewed Jan 2009 in Sunnyvale, CA (took 2 months)
When finally had the on-site it was a grueling five hour interview. One-on-ones included three team members, the hiring manager and HR Director. No breaks. Some people were nice and businesslike. Others didn’t want to be there and just went through the motions.
They should focus more on working style and philosophy, since they had high turnover when I was there. Not everyone could cut it. Some people were not accepted into the group, very high-schoolish and clicky.
Ask about daily interaction, personalities, how they work together to make sure it is the right fit for you and you can accommodate them.

Negotiation Details
Yes, can negotiate on salary. They pay some very well and others not. This was pre-IPO and pre-big company HR staff. Not sure how it is now.
No negotiation on stock options.
Bonuses were not given when I started. Then we received a pitiful RSU grant that vested over four or five years, $2000 over five years, come on!

One or two telephonic interviews take place to screen candidates. Then you are asked to appear at company premise for interview. It starts with a presentation of your work done at previous company. I did not bring power point file, so i presented on board. After this there can be 2 to 4 technical interviews on same day.

Interviewed Mar 2011 (took 2 weeks)
The entire interview process was carried out by the Accounting/Finance department in conjunction with the Engineering department. HR was not involved in the process. Both the phone screen and 1:1 in-person interviews (with 2-3 people) were done by Finance and Engineering. A presentation was required for the final round that I was not invited to.
The questions were very Excel-oriented, in terms of skills and financial modeling experience. Be ready with a lot of detailed examples. There wasn't a focus on personality, but the people I met were outgoing and casual. There is a start-up feel in that the department does seem like they need a candidate who can deal with chaos and be willing to work outside the job description (ie finance in accounting or accounting in finance).
