+ was contacted by recruiter, recruiter forgot and had to reschedule 3 times before she finally interviewed me
+ interviewed with the lead UX designer; very professional, great attitude
+ wasn't available to interview in person, so held a skype interview with the manager, lead ux designer, and I believe it was the graphic designer at the same time

    Interview Questions
    • Rather than difficult, you could tell that the people I was interviewing with wanted very specific answers to the questions they directed towards me. There wasn't room for any flexibility. They seemed more interesting in criticizing my end work results instead of hearing the process of how I created them. The manager and graphic designer actually left during the middle of the middle. They did not seem interested in my work and were rather unfriendly. The most professional person in the room with the lead UX designer. All in all, it was not a positive experience.   Answer Question

    Junior Graphic Designer Interview

I applied online. The process took 4+ weeksinterviewed at InfoStretch in April 2014.

    Interview Details

I initially applied for this position on an online job posting board. Someone from their PA office immediately reached out to me for an initial phone interview. I was asked some brief informational questions, like current position, growth pattern, company values, etc. She mentioned that she would forward my information over to the hiring manager at HQ for further screening. I went through a second interview with the hiring manager/lead designer which was a great conversation. We spoke for over an hour about project history, work mentality, experience, design preferences, etc. It was an in depth and engaging interview which was amazing. Afterwards, I was provided a design practical for propose a redesign of the company website. The third portion of my interview was a panel interview with the Sr. Marketing Manager, Sr. Graphic Designer, and Sr. UX Designer. Everyone was great to speak with, and the best part was exercising on-the-spot collaboration.

    Interview Questions
    • The most pleasant surprise was the on-the-spot critquing of my web design. I was confident and thoughtful of my work so when asked why I implemented certain elements, I was well prepared to answer. I was asked how I could add CTA elements and re-configure information flow which was the most difficult portions. It required me to be extremely agile with my thought process and tested my knowledge of UX concepts.   Answer Question

I had a phone screen with the recruiter first. Then went to in person interviews. I found the people I was speaking with/meeting with very professional throughout the whole process and it was a very positive experience for me.

    Interview Questions
    • I was asked how I would handle something in a business scenerio but without knowing their policies on the specific issue I could only answer from my own experience.   Answer Question
