Sales Operations Analyst Interview

Sales Operations Analyst

I applied through an employee referral and the process took 3 weeks - interviewed at Informatica in June 2014.

Interview Details – I was fortunate to get a phone interview from HR. Then a week later the same from the hiring manager. Both individuals were very pleasant. When I found out I was not selected for an onsite interview, HR was nice enough to provide feedback on what improvements I need to make as I continue with my search for employment opportunities.

Senior Inside Sales Representative Interview

Interviewed at Informatica

Interview Details – Application online. Very generic. A bit outdated. was very dissatisfied with the hiring process. I was over qualified for a position as this. I did the similar job for a larger company for years. I was promoted to a higher position. I was willing to take a pay cut and work here because it seemed like a great company and closer to home. I was told there were other candidates better qualified? I'm a top performer at my current company and if I wasn't qualified for this role I am skeptical at whom would be. Maybe they are looking for candidates who are more mediocre

Sales Consultant Interview

Sales Consultant
Nieuwegein (Netherlands)

I applied in-person and the process took 2+ weeks - interviewed at Informatica in February 2010.

Interview Details – Was chased for a couple of years already, being the spokesperson of a system integrator that i worked for. Informatica apparently saw value in the field experience to bring that to practice as a sales consultant. Hence they approached me for a job.

Interview Question – I received a customer case and had to prepare a small presentation on how to sell Informatica products to this customer. Most difficult question was why Informatica and not IBM or Oracle or SAP.   View Answer

Negotiation Details – Easy, they made a very generous offer i couldn't refuse.

Professional Services Analyst Interview

I applied through college or university and the process took a day - interviewed at Informatica in February 2014.

Interview Details – I applied through my college job search site for an on campus interview. I then scheduled an interview date online through the campus job search site. The recruiter was very nice the interview was very casual and easy going. It felt more like a conversation than an interview. The recruiter basically went through my resume and asked me to further explain my experiences and skills. The first interview weeds everyone out based on personality and fit for the company/ position. The second one is assesses your technical capabilities (so the recruiter told me)

Interview Question – There were no trick questions in the first round interview. I didn't find any of the questions extremely hard. Just be prepared to verbally provide examples of the work you describe on your resume. For example if you are asked what experience you have with Java you will be asked follow up questions. So if you give examples of a program you wrote to solve some problem they will ask you more details about your code.   Answer Question

Software Engineer Interview

Software Engineer
Bangalore (India)

I applied through college or university and the process took 3 days - interviewed at Informatica in June 2012.

Interview Details – The first question, was explaining about work profile which was good start to demonstrate technical capabilities and make good impression of expertise in domain and technologies. ( this is what we already write in our resume/profile, but it was chance given to explain out yourself).

Next question was to explain out current project architecture and implementation on big board. Here, had interactive session for 5-10 mins on process flow, different pros and cons of architecture design and explaining out how this design works with actual use cases. ( This works out to be good demonstration for what currently doing, so started with explaining project architecture SOA based layered architecture, emphasizing more on J2EE core design pattern, GOF design pattern for creational, behavioral and structural, also talking of solution components and how they are integrated like EJB, Webservices, JMS, Database, Quartz batch scheduler.

Next questions was sort in debate mode on clustering (application running on multiple server) and how application works. More specifically on batch scheduler running in cluster environment. Expectation was high level explanation how Quartz scheduler handlers cluster deployment.

Next question was on making MQ messages transactional in synchronous communication environment. Let's say I have an application which need to send out messages to two databases oracle and sybase, part of record is written in oracle remaining part of same message goes in sybase, so let's say if sybase transaction failed then how would you roll back whole transaction so that data in oracle is not inconsistency with sybase database

Senior Software Engineer Interview

I applied through an employee referral and the process took 1 week - interviewed at Informatica in April 2014.

Interview Details – I gave two written test than they called for two technical f2f rounds and HR round only if I clear first two technical rounds.
As per them, I cleared two technical rounds and they asked me to wait in a meeting room for HR round. I waited for 10-15 minutes then they said "HR Manager is busy in meeting. We will call you". I wrote emails, called them and no response, completely unprofessional.

Interview Question – Questions: convert BST to doubly linked list. Given 2D array of intergers, you can only traverse down and diagonally, find the maximum sum.   Answer Question

2-Typical data structure, core java questions and also projects which were on my resume...they go into pretty details of the project

Interview Question – 1- Asked about when to use volatile keyword in java, double locking for singleton pattern--just Google for answers
2- was also asked to implement reader-writer lock(with precedence to writer) in java...attempted it but I genuinely think its difficult to do in 30 min interview

Marketing Manager Interview

Marketing Manager

Interviewed at Informatica

Interview Details – The recruiter seemed very scattered and disorganized. She repeated a few questions twice, sometimes three times. She also asked an illegal question, which I didn't answer. She then asked me to list what previous jobs were NOT on my resume, even though I had more than 15 years listed. She was quite unprofessional and did not focus on accomplishments. She ended the interview in 15 minutes and then emailed me 2 days later to say they selected another candidate.
